Roger Clemens to be indicted for perjury

    Uh oh, Roger!

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/20/sp...s.html?_r=2&hp

Federal authorities have decided to indict Roger Clemens on charges of making false statements to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The Feds usually won't indict unless it's a slam dunk.

This won't help his Hall of Fame credentials.

You know, If congress was held accountable for all their lies, there would be no congress. They would all be in jail. Like they have nothing better to do than to go after steroids in baseball.......while this economy is tanking. Bastards!

"Do as I say, not as I do"?

I agree there are more important things the gubmit can spend their time and money on, but the Feds are trying to protect Congress and send a message that they are not to be lied to. They see Clemens as a good person to make an example out of. Personally, I don't care what happens to him...innocent or guilty, IDGAF...I just enjoy the drama.

He should have just said nothing at all.

They wouldn't have had him on anything then... but because he lied about steroid use they throw him in the pen. Same ish happened to Marion Jones.

Just keep your mouth shut and you will always be good to go.

I agree. He was a fool to lie. His arrogance got in the way of his common sense. He was warned before he appeared-whatever you do, don't lie. He appeared voluntarily. All of this could have been avoided.

90% of the laws in the country are F-ing stupid. You think that matters?? As long as we have a corrupt oppressive government they'll continue to pass any bullshit law they want against the will of the people. Been happening for years. Who's going to stop them?? Voting obviously hasn't helped.

he had the option to not say anything at all during the hearings.....he chose to lie instead....Mark McGuire seems to be the only one who was smart enough to keep his mouth shut (although later he cracked....at least it wasn't while under oath)

Amen. Roger Clemens was one of the most hard-assed, hard-nosed, never-quit pitchers who ever played the game; was a dominating power pitcher who showed more cojones than any politician since Margaret Thatcher, and those hypocritical, low-life mealy mouthed lying ward heelers are going after him? They couldn't wear his fucking jock.

Pal, You don't have a clue what you are typing about. You know as much about baseball, heart, athleticism, courage and winning spirit as the rest of us know about brain surgery. Far less, actually. At least many of us here are literate, and know where the brain is. You are either stupid, naive, or uninformed -- all three, my guess.
