18 game season for the NFL?

Think it's a good idea or bad? I think it's good, but only because I want to see more games.

Cant make up my mind? Good for more football, but it adds another 2 games to an already rough season for most guys and chances for injuries goes up

Yep-That's why I said no. Tough enough to play 16 plus the playoffs and Super Bowl. I think they should keep things the way they are. No wonder so many vets look for any excuse to holdout during preseason.

Yeah I don't think most people realize what getting pounded by 350+lb linemen game after game does to your body.

Guys are so big these days, and have tremendous quickness and agility. I just watched a segment on Bryant Gumbel's sports show linking ALS to repeated head injuries. The league has come a long way as far as preventing spearing when tackling, but lineman and linebackers still regularly use their skulls as battering rams when blocking and fighting off blocks. I think the league would likely lose money over time with increased disability payments. A lot of old timers die early and can't even walk by the time they are 40. If I had a son, I would probably encourage him to avoid football, even though it is my favorite sport.

I don't think it's a good idea. Enough games have already been added.
