Larry David did a great job of poking fun of Stein on that show. No doubt that he was a bit quirky, to say the least. Can't argue with success, though.

Yep-I knew what you meant. Larry David, the co-creator of the show, was the one doing the Steinbrenner voice. I remember reading that Stein thought it was really funny.

Actually, my post has nothing to do with the 2010 season, whatsoever. The Red Sox season was crippled by injuries, that made the team's one glaring weakness, it's bullpen, the cop out for their demise.

The Yankees have been extremely fortunate health wise over the last couple of seasons, and eventually that won't be the case. Whether it be next season or the year after, Sabathia's arm will fall off, Rodriguez's dick will get caught in his zipper upon picking Cameron Diaz up for a date, Teixeira being out of shape at the beginning of the season won't just result in a lackluster first month but will see him pull a hamstring and be out for the majority of the season, and Jeter... well, Jeter sucks, so hopefully he stays healthy, the Yankees give him mass amounts of money this offseason and they keep him at short stop where he's become a complete liability defensively (something I've been making note of for years now).

George Steinbrenner was a shitty baseball mind, and an even shittier person. I can laugh at Seinfeld, as we all can, but the reason David and Seinfeld were able to make light of him is because he's perhaps the most absurd human being on the planet.

Truly, honestly, I miss the days of the Yankees panicking and signing players to lucrative long term deals because they won 95 games and missed the playoffs as a result of being in a tough division, or made the playoffs but lost in the division series. It was that panicking that made this most recent World Series-less string so enjoyable for onlookers, myself included.

Since he's been relieved of his player personnel duties, the Yankees have used their advantages (money) in crafty, smart ways that have allowed them to get over the hump.

Hopefully, when they're flawed rotation and bullpen end their season in the playoffs, "like father, like son" will hold true, and they'll go out and resign Jeter for ridiculous amounts of money and keep him at short stop as I mentioned above, in addition to throwing Sabathia-money at Cliff Lee and Teixeira money at another aging veteran not in his prime and not named Carl Crawford.

Your post lacks anything resembling a rational thought. Thanks for trying, but until you formulate an actual sentence, you can go fuck yourself, as can your ass-to-mouth buddy Georgey.

That is cool. I wasn't sure who Larry David was, but figured he was a producer or something and did the voice. That was one of the best parts of that show, in my opinion.

He and Jerry wrote most of the episodes, along with a couple of other writers. His show Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO is hilarious.

To be honest I'm not a Yankees fan, but I still loved all the Yankees stuff on that show. I've never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm, but will definitly check it out. If Seinfeld is in it it's probably funny.

They did a little series last year with all the cast, but mostly it's just Larry's deal. They improvise a lot of the material, and it is very unique for TV comedy. Kinda the anti-sitcom comedy. One of the few shows that makes me laugh out loud.

I don't have HBO, but I'm pretty sure my library has complete seasons of it on DVD. They have a lot of shows like that on DVD there.

To be honest with you at one point I hated that guy but in the end he cared a whole lot for his team and again, I've said this before and I will say it again...he invests his profits on his team. Unlike other teams like the Pirates whose owners were caught not spending it on the team.

Steinbrenner had great qualities about him as an owner, absolutely. He wanted to win more than any other owner of his era, and showed it by spending millions upon millions to change the Yankee culture. Not only did he want to win more than any other owner, he was able to turn that desire into a ridiculous money maker. The YES network, the new Toilet... As a businessman, I have nothing but praise.

However, as a person, and as a person overseeing baseball personnel decisions, he flat out sucked.

The Granderson trade was simply a bad trade. The Tigers believed that he was simply a platoon player given his inabilities to hit left handed pitching and the Yankees were bent over and reamed in this as a result. Obviously, the Yankees aren't better off without Granderson on the roster, but I don't think him being injured hurt the Yankees all that much. Given that the year before, Cashman bent over Kenny Williams and reamed him in the ass, stealing Nick Swisher away.

Enough about ass play.

Posada is old, and a catcher. Him playing all season is an unrealistic expectation.

The ironman's inability to stay healthy is truly unfortunate. Some players are just like that. Thing is, you can't say it was a bad acquisition because it didn't pan out. He would have been the ideal fit at the top of the order DH'ing for you guys this year.

The A-Rod injury is the only one that can be considered unlucky, but he too is getting up there in age. As we know from his narcisstic photo shoot kissing his shirtless image in the mirror, the guy stays in excellent shape and he's pretty much been healthy for the entirety of his career as a result.

As we now know, opting not to resign Clemens was more than likely the right decision if massive steroid abuse didn't revive his career.

They could pay him $100 million per season, and given jersey sales and shit like that, they'd probably make it all back. Thing is, with the luxury tax in place, he's putting them in a tough position being unable to comprehend the economics of baseball, and how he's simply not deserving of the salary he's possessed over the last decade.

Johnny Damon was unwilling to take a pay cut and it bit him in the ass; he's basically irrelevant now and is in no position to sign for anything more than peanuts this offseason.

More important than the money the Yankees will ultimately throw his way, however, is the fact that third and second base are basically off limits with Rodriguez and Cano around for the next decade. Same goes for first, though he wouldn't be considered there anyways. He's come off as a guy who has kept his ego in check, but I wonder if that's the cas, considering all the things I've read about over the last couple of months. I can't imagine he'll take too well to being Biggio'ed around the field.. I mean, the guy is excusing his lackluster play this season offensively on not making the necessary adjustments. Umm... no, you clueless bastard, you're no longer the same player you once were, players around you/across the Majors are better, younger, faster, stronger, etc. and you simply can't keep up like you once did.
