I gotta wonder who was the last pitcher to throw two hitters in one season. Nolan Ryan?

Actually, I think it was Nolan Ryan. His stuff was unbelievable. Threw just over 100 pitches. If it wasn't for the walk in the 5th, it would've been a perfect game. Helluva way to start the playoffs.

Fuck yeah! Just an awesome performance..... and his first post season start.... Amazing.

Yes, Nolan Ryan was the last to pitch two no-hitters in a season, but only Don Larsen in 1956 pitched a no-hitter in the post season... until now. So Doc pitched two no hitters in a season, but also the only second post season no hitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I live in the Philly metro area? Funny, everytime I see a Salvation Army Santa, I make a point of throwing some snowballs at him.....

Larsen threw a perfect game. Only one in World Series history. Congrats Jerseydevil. I've got a buddy who grew up in Philly. He loves the Phillies and of course the Eagles and Flyers. It's weird because my family lives almost entirely in and around Minnesota, and both my parents grew up in Northern Minnesota, and here I am rooting for the Yankees. 'Course I grew up in Oregon, so I don't have the same connection they do. Still feel a bit like a traitor, though. Phillies are really something this year. Great pitching and defense, and solid hitting.

Great game going on right now. Yankees started off poorly, and have come back a bit. 6-4 in the seventh right now. Great day of baseball.

I meant throwing snowballs at Santa, not being in Philly .

Before I was divorced and sold the house, I could see Citizens Bank Park from my rooftop. I was just across the Delaware River in NJ. But even now I am only 25 minutes from Citizens Park and the Linc.

Texas pitching is just too strong for the Rays so far.... Don't count the Rays out just yet, but it's gonna be tough.

MDR, can you imagine if the Phils would have kept Cliff Lee when trading for Halladay? What a one, two punch that would have been!

That would have been sick having both Lee and Halliday.

Man, those two would have been unreal. Twins just scored. Damn!

To this day I can never figure out what the thinking was.... It wasn't money, they signed Ryan Howard to a 25 mil deal right after that.

The Phillies trading of Lee, only to give up more prospects to acquire Roy Oswalt was a terrible move. Signing Howard to as big of a contract as they signed him for was also a terrible move.

Phillies stole one last night, but i'm not complaining. I truely think the pressure of the playoffs were getting to the Reds. I think experience is a definite plus in the playoffs.

Yeah the Reds gave that one away. Utley had a weird game... 2 errors, questionable safe call at 2nd, and it looks like he didn't tag 3rd. But I'm not complaining either!

I really thought they had 'em. Utley is usually so reliable, too. Giants/Braves was interesting, too. Glad my Ducks have an easy game today so I can focus on baseball.
