there's been quite an uproar about this.

I think someone was robbed.
The Yankees' infield is golden. Even Derek Jeter.
At least that's what managers and coaches around the league seem to think, as Jeter, Mark Teixeira and Robinson Cano were among the American League Gold Glove winners announced on Tuesday.
Cano and Teixeira's awards were hardly a surprise, as both players are considered to be among the elite at their respective positions. Jeter, on the other hand, was not expected to win the Gold Glove, as most industry experts though Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus would capture his first.
Jeter led all AL shortstops with a .989 fielding percentage, while his six errors were the fewest for any everyday shortstop in the league.
This is Jeter's fifth Gold Glove award, putting him in an exclusive club; only five other shortstops in history have won at least five Gold Gloves, led by Ozzie Smith (13) and Omar Vizquel (11). Luis Aparicio (9), Mark Belanger (8) and Dave Concepcion (5) are the others.
Teixeira has now won four Gold Gloves, winning in each of his first two years with the Yankees. Cano's Gold Glove is his first.
The other AL winners were Mark Buehrle, Joe Mauer, Evan Longoria, Ichiro Suzuki, Franklin Gutierrez and Carl Crawford.

Love Jeter and the Yankees, but his range is pretty limited these days. Probably at least a dozen guys more deserving than him. Cano is fantastic, and Tex does a nice job as well. If you ask me Ozzie was the best ever.
Jeters range has been diminishing for awhile now. He is a hell of a ball player though. The balls he did get to he fielded cleanly. Im curious what the Yankees are going to do with him looking for a contract now? no place really to move him to. 3rd has Alex and DH will have Jorge there now.

He's definitely staying at Short next season. he doesn't make bone head plays but a gold glove.....

Those Damn Yankees...

I could not believe it... yes I could.
