Former Dolphin kicks Jets incident up a notch
Zach Thomas believes the tripping of a Miami player along the sideline was an orchestrated maneuver by New York. By Sam Farmer
As the New York Jets prepare to take another step toward securing a spot in the playoffs, the spotlight remains on one of their assistant coaches who put his worst foot forward.
Sal Alosi, the Jets strength and conditioning coach, was suspended for the rest of the season and fined $25,000 by the team for using his knee to intentionally trip a Miami Dolphins player running out of bounds on the sideline on a punt.
The lingering question: Was it simply a rogue act, or did the Jets deliberately form a human wall along the boundary to crowd the Dolphins' outside coverage man? Alosi was the first in a line of Jets employees who stood shoulder-to-shoulder along the sideline.
The Jets strength coach made an aggregious error in judgment. But I do think he got caught up in the moment. I'm glad no one got hurt, and I admired how he came clean immediately and did his best to admit his mistake and address all involved directly. Very strange incident.
What a piece of garbage, and all he gets is a fine that won't ammount to much for him. This guy should be fired. There are people who get fired from jobs every day for a lot less.

i dont agree about him being fired...he's suspended for the rest of the season including playoffs if they make it...
i think the 25 grand fine is alittle high.....but whatever...
^^^^ That's what it looks like. Total bullshit for one man to take the fall if it was a planned effort or strategy. I wonder if they'll reimburse him on the sly somehow.

Yeah, true bro. It's not like 25 grand is a lot of money to him like it would be to me or you (of course assuming you make an average salary). At least he was punished. But yeah, that is a high fine. I'm sure he'll lose some funds missing out on all those games anyway.
