    T. J. Houshmandzadeh

    T. J. Houshmandzadeh must feel horrible right about now after letting that football bounce off his chest.

Ravens' T.J. Houshmandzadeh 'can't believe' he dropped critical pass

    By Sean Leahy, USA TODAY

Baltimore Ravens WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was dumbfounded by his critical drop that sealed his team's 31-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco targeted Houshmandzadeh on fourth-and-19 on the team's last-gasp attempt to extend the game.

But the ball bounced off of Houshmandzadeh, who was being guarded by Steelers CB William Gay.

"It's unbelievable," Houshmandzadeh said, via the Baltimore Sun. "I can't believe that happened. I would bet every dollar I have that I make that."

Houshmandzadeh signed a $40 million, five-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks in 2009. But Seattle cut him before the start of this season -- while still owing him more than $6 million.

The Ravens signed him to a contract worth $855,000.

Houshmandzadeh had three catches for 38 yards in the loss to the Steelers.

And a shot from the Ravens loss to the Steelers in Baltimore...

The hand of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark grabs Baltimore Ravens wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh as cornerback Bryant McFadden tackles him during the first half of their NFL game in Baltimore. The Steelers rallied for a 13-10 victory.

The Ravens could have used some of this...

That's a lot of attention for a dropped pass. If the Ravens would have won we never would have even heard about it. A lot of winning teams have had people who have dropped passes that you don't hear about. Looks like someone is looking for a scapegoat.

Persian Prince, I created this thread because I honestly felt saddened for this athlete. The cameras kept coming back to him there on the field in his misery.

And Vortrit, I wouldn't be surprised. In every avenue of life someone is always seeming to look for a scapegoat.

Edward Lee of The Baltimore Sun notes three athletes some might point the finger at.

A few key plays could have saved Ravens' season

Drops by Houshmandzadeh, Boldin, along with Smith's penalty on punt return TD, will haunt Ravens

Players and coaches often say that one play — whether made or missed — does not define a team or determine an outcome. What about two or three plays? That's the thought that will likely trail the Ravens into the offseason after falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-24, in an AFC divisional playoff game at Heinz Field on Saturday evening.

There are some great highlights of the game here:

bro i am not bashing him i like TJ, but really they r going to find any excuse for the loss when in all reality the game was over before that yea that was a crtical pass to get a 1st down but after ray rice fumbled steelers took advantage of the turnovers and scored on ever possesion not to mention the INTS flacco threw but anquan boldin missed more then one catch but in the end flacco jus could not handle the pressure and lead his team deep in the playoffs

^ Didn't take your post as bashing at all. You simply pointed out that T.J. wasn't the only one to drop a ball or make a mistake.
