Defense in the NBA on the 80's and 90's were designed to beat down Jordan (Celtics, detroit . etc)
This teams will literally harass the man in playoff games, beating him up on every play and his Airness still managed to score 30-40 points on those teams. There is no superstar of today who has the mental strength to endure the rules/defense of the 80-90's. Kobe would be a Joke attempting to break down the defense of the Bad boy Pistons of the 90's.

    That was cool Busy!

Out of sight out of mind, I guess. But I would have to disagree with Scotty, MJ was the greatest basketball player I've ever seen play the game.

Lebron has been in the league what 7-8 years, and your saying he is the greatest. A career is not made in 8 years.

And besides, Scotty. If it weren't for MJ, you wouldn't even have been interviewed!

    Yeah, I love this video.

Lebron is great, but he's no Jordan. His performance in the Finals alone should disqualify him. Wade is going to win the MVP & has been the go to guy. I hate always having to dis great players & I'm not trying to take anything away from Lebron, but the media is intent on comparing any great player to Jordan.

To be fair, I live in Chicago... so I doubt I'd ever think anyone is as good as Jordan: I idolized the guy growing up. I watched every single game in the 90s... he was just amazing to watch.

Jordan took a shit team and transformed it into a powerhouse and won six titles. If Lebron was as good as Jordan he would have taken a shit team in Cleveland and turned them into a championship team instead of going out and trying to create a "dream team" of all stars. And this series is far from over. Theres no guarntee that he will get a ring this year. Even tho I belive Miami is going to win it.

I really think Scottie is just bitter always playing second fiddle to Jordan. When Jordan retired the first time, Scottie had his chance to lead the team & failed them.. refusing to play, no matter who you are, means you're a terrible leader.

I loved Scottie on the team, he just seems to harbor resentment. It can't be easy playing under Jordan, but Jordan always had his back.. tried working an agreement to keep Scottie in on his own contract. Just a shame he would stab him in the back like that. Even if he really thought it (which I doubt), that's something you keep to yourself.. especially since he's involved with the Bulls again, and trust me... Jordan is a legend everywhere, but he is a King in Chicago. Bulls fan pride themselves on having had the best on their team. Pip may face a steep price for it.

    Agreed.

I live in Cal., I've seen great players and many were ex Lakers. But, watching Jordan play was like watching Michael Angelo paint, or Bach make music. I also would watch him play in every game that was televised, and I would catch all the games on the Chicago station, WGN. Because I knew I was watching something special, I haven't even come relatively close to that watching these new guys play.

MJ made his teammates better. Lebron wants the fame...and the others to pass the ball to him.

My team was the Pacers, and the Bulls were one team I did not want them to face. MJ late in the game would be double teamed, but it didn't matter. As the pressure was building, he would get just a little bit better if that was even possible. He was clutch. He brought his team to victory, again and again. If you take MJ out of the 90's Bulls, they probably do not even make the playoffs. He made every player on his team better.

edit: correction, the bulls without Jordan made the playoffs in 93/94 during Jordan's first retirement and minor league baseball career

Here's a passage from wikipedia, can't say it better myself

In 1992–93, despite a 32.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 5.5 apg campaign,[23] Jordan's streak of consecutive MVP seasons ended as he lost the award to his friend Charles Barkley. Coincidentally, Jordan and the Bulls met Barkley and his Phoenix Suns in the 1993 NBA Finals. The Bulls captured their third consecutive NBA championship on a game-winning shot by John Paxson and a last-second block by Horace Grant, but Jordan was once again Chicago's catalyst. He averaged a Finals-record 41.0 ppg during the six-game series,[36] and became the first player in NBA history to win three straight Finals MVP awards.[31] He scored more than 30 points in every game of the series, including 40 or more points in 4 consecutive games.

Always rooted against MJ, but appreciated what he could do on the court.

There is a tale of his trash-talking that involves Gary Payton. Payton was telling him during the game that he drove a more expensive car than MJ. Jordan tells him he drives the same cars as Payton but his were free.
