    Trent Richardson ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns as No. 3 Alabama beat Penn State 27-11.

    Andrew Luck had four touchdown passes as No. 6 Stanford crushed Duke 44-14.

    Auburn upset No. 16 Mississippi State. (Sept. 10)

    No. 2 LSU routed Northwestern State 49-3. Spencer Ware and Michael Ford ran for two scores apiece in the win.
