anybody have any experience buying or selling this kind of stuff? I have a NFL Hall of Fame ring I want to sell and am not sure to go the public auction route or ebay, etc.

Who's was it and can you prove it?

    That's a big deal.

The bigger the name the better your chances are of finding a fan at an auction who might want it. Hall of famers are obviously great players, but the offensive linemen and some defensive positions don't draw the same passion as star positions.

If the player has passed away his family will likely pay the most, assuming they have any wealth.

Being the first black inducted is huge. Also the fact that he played in New York is a nice added value. Honestly, you need to get a hold of a collector, preferably in New York.

I have to be in NYC in a couple of weeks I was thinking about that also. I would rather it go to a Giants fan and collector.

If you're near NYC then wouldn't Sotheby's be someone to contact?

    Sotheby's - Sell

    Curious about their commission, though.
