Thumbs down Staley and the Eagles

This guy is pissing me off. I know how he feels, and I understand his position, but he is bound by contract to be in camp. I think the birds should trade his ass, but he's a stud. A real workhorse. I think it would be a mistake to let him go.

Damn! What do you guys think.

I think he's neither a workhorse or a stud. He spends too much damn time dancing in the backfield trying to be a Barry Sanders wann-be. By the time he makes up his mind which direction he wants to run it's too late and he's on his ass for a five yard loss. Trade his worthless ass and get a REAL stud.

    That being said.....................GO EAGLES

    Baboon-
Staley is a holdout from camp because he want's a contract extension.

    ALBOB -

He's not one of the top 10 backs in the league, but 1029 yards, 3.8 yd/carry, 541 yards receiving, 8 TD, 3 fumbles. In a west coast offense? I think that's pretty good. He gets yards when it counts, he catches the ball very well, and he works great in this system. Yeah, the Eagles have Buck and Westbrook, but I wish they could work things out with him, and I wish he'd stop being such a selfish, greedy SOB. It's not like him at all.

That's the problem with pro's today. Let him go! You don't need that attitude on a team.

The reason he is holding out is because he wants them to show him the money now. Next year not to many teams are gonna give the big money to a career 3.9 avg back.

He had been fined $5K/day since training camp opened and is scheduled to make $2.2mm this year.

Now I will admitt, I'm partial to a specific type of back, I like an RB that gets his nose in there and earns the yardage. I'm a bit old school, I liked Larry Czonka, John Riggins, etc. Deuce Staley just gets on my nerves, he's got the size to be old school but not the mentality. One of the reasons I like the Eagles so much is their in your face, smash mouth style and Duece just ain't got it.

A few other guys have done this in the past, usually veterans with a starting position cynched.

Perhaps their motivation is to get out of a few weeks of training camp. Costs them a few grand a day, but you never know. These guys can be real morons.

Deuce wants a long term contract and the Eagles aren't willing to fess one up. It's one of the things that pisses me off about Any Reid, he'd rather lose a good starter (Hugh Douglas, etc.) than sign a long term contract. The only player that's gotten one so far has been Donovan McNabb.

Deuce is a loser, and while brilliant at times - he is often nothing more than a mediocre player. Just my opinion. I could be wrong, but.....

    I'm not

Staley's hold out did nothing for him except cost about $200,000 in team fines for not reporting to camp. he didn't even get his contract extended like he wanted to. I never thought him to be brilliant but I can't believe his agent wouldn't try and talk him out of something so stupid.

well he played like shit in his first pre seaon game back. Suprise his timing was way off and he looked rusty. Dumb move to do something like this that hurts the team.
