Duck Season! Rabbit Season! Red Wings Season!

Hey, we’ve got ourselves a season, kids – a real, live, honest-to-goodness Red Wings season! The National Hockey League opened its 87th season last Wednesday evening (wouldn’t you just know the first game I watched on TV had to involve Fedorov and the Mighty Ducks), giving all of us hockey junkies something to do almost every night for the next eight months.

Whoo-hoo! Opening Night at The Joe! I thought the team’s introductions this year were pretty laid back (what could you expect with a lower bowl that was, at best, one-third full), except for the introduction of Steve Yzerman, which has become an annual explosion of thunderous cheers in Detroit. After the game, Yzerman was asked what it meant to be so appreciated. “My first thought was, ‘I just didn’t want them to be booing by the third period,’” he said. “It was a bit of a wake-up call that you have to do well.” Maybe he was disappointed with the first 59 or so minutes of the game, but the fans left the stands in amazement of his final two seconds!

There is no doubt in that. I will say that Carolina has a decent football team this year.

The Wings are very strong this year. They have added some good players and got rid of some dead weight (Fedorov). The Wings have set them selfs up for another cup this year.

The top continders for the cup are

Detroit
Ottawa
Colorado.
Dallas

And not in any particular order. Could be any one of those four.

YES............And Detroit already beat them once this season. And the season is only been going for 1-week now.

But in his defence, it's a long season and a lot of things can happen.

Detroit has 10 cups.........past that I couldnt' tell you who else has mutiple cups.
