    Mickelson wins the 04 Masters

Phil finally wins a major. What a putt on the 18th! Only 4th person in the history of the Masters to birdie the 18th to win.

That was an amazing tournament, The Masters is my favorite major tournament, what an amazing venue. I gotta give it up to Phil, he was absolutely amazing, 31 on the back to win? You gotta be kidding me. If he gets his head screwed on, he should win a lot of majors. He showed a lot of maturity this week and really played terrifically. He's the peoples champ! Watch out now, his career is really going to take off!

I'm not a huge pro golf fan, but the sports fan and competitor in me can certainly appreciate this. How could you NOT be happy for the guy???

The Master's is my favorite major also. Most of the time it has a great finish. 31 on the back 9 IS amazing. Did you see the low AMATEUR also shot 31? Damn, that kid has a future.

When Phil was walking up the fairways, he looked so relaxed, so confident. He said later he 'knew' it was his day...

I was wondering exactly the same thing. This last week, he supposedly had the flu. But he has had a bad run since meeting her.

Tiger has not won a major since he fired his swinging instructor. I think Tiger needs to swallow his pride and hire that guy back.

Mickelson's wife is no slouch...she's a hottie herself.

You don't even golf, do you? What a waste, all those nice courses in NC and a non-golfer living there.

Oh man.....wrestling AND golf fans........I LIKE it here!

Well I just hope Phil doesnt get Corey Pavin Syndrome. Remember what happened to him after winning the US open? Has he even made the top 20 in any tournament since that year? I have not seen his name on any leader board in years.

Have you been looking at the right leader boards? Isn't he on the Senior's Tour now?

Hmmm.....that COULD be true. I honeslty dont keep up with the senior tour. Although I dont see why he would do that, he's a lot younger than Fat Jack and most of the guys that wander into that tour. But no, honestly, in as little as a year afterwards, Pavin was nowhere to be seen, he was not making some cuts and he just dropped off the face of the earth, it seems. I believe he won The Open in 94 or 95 and he was like in his mid to late 30s at the time. He was smoking the remainder of the year and he was all over the place. He got a spot on the Ryder cup that year too. But after that......(?) I do recall seeing him in the list of people that made the cut in a tournament a couple or three years back, but that was about it.

Sorry, I was just sort of yanking your chain. Corey's 44 or 45. (Born in '59). I know exactly what you mean, he won the open then vanished. It's not all that un-common though, look at Steve Jones, David Duval, David Toms, etc. It seems they lose the hunger after they get that one big win. I sure as hell hope that doesn't happen to Phil, I'd like to see him start making up for lost time and winning one or two majors every year.

OH MAN....yeah I forgot all about Duval! man he was something else, wasnt he? Especially after he lost all that weight. Everybody talks about losing the hunger, but I kinda feel its the pressure of being at the top. Not many people can handle "having" to perform. Like how you somettimes get the yips after a good front nine. Ive seen that happen to lots of people Ive played with after they have some terrific holes. They just choke. Maybe its in their minds that they really shouldnt be that good? I dunno....(?) Having that monkey of "the best player never to win a major" on your back can produce some terrific pressure to repeat after carrying that title for so long. Yeah I hope Phil continues with this. I like Phil.
