Man, Mike Tyson got tha shit beat outta him !

Well, I don't know how many of y'all get down wit tha fight game, but for those who do can you believe that Williams ( who is really nothin special) just dogged Mike out. I'd say that it's time to say good bye to tha game or wind up being a name for up and come'n fighters to get a win over. Too bad! Peace and Love

I love watching boxing, but was this fight even promoted? I didn't even hear anything about until this morning. But yeah, Tyson should of hung up his gloves a long time ago.

I heard about the fight being promoted, but I can't believe how badly he lost. Ouch.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Mike Tyson tore a ligament in his left knee in the first round of his shocking knockout loss to Danny Williams, his manager said Saturday.

Shelly Finkel said an MRI showed a complex tear of the lateral meniscus, and that Tyson couldn't even walk on the leg Saturday. He said Tyson's ex-wife Monica, who is a doctor, read the results.

"That's why he couldn't throw the right hand the rest of the fight," Finkel said. "I was screaming at him to throw it, but he couldn't."

Tyson was dominating the first round, rocking Williams with shots to the head, but late in the round motioned toward his knee and grimaced. Finkel said Tyson refused to make an excuse and wanted to continue fighting.

Williams ended up knocking Tyson out with a series of punches in the fourth round that left Tyson sprawled on the canvas. Tyson appeared as if he could get up and continue, but made little attempt to get up.

"In retrospect I wish he had said something and said he couldn't continue," Finkel said.

After the fight, Tyson's trainer, Freddie Roach credited Williams with fighting a good fight, but said Tyson was hampered by the injury.

"It's kind of hard to pivot and throw some shots without your left knee," Roach said. "But Danny Williams surprised a lot of us."

Finkel said Tyson was downcast after the fight, and that it would take some time to decide when -- or whether -- to resume his career. The fight with Williams was to be the first in a series of comeback fights to help Tyson pay off $38 million in debt.

Tyson earned some $8 million Friday night, but would keep only $2 million of that if a bankruptcy reorganization plan is approved. That plan, however, was contingent on Tyson fighting seven times in the next three years, which now appears unlikely.

"We'll have to see how emotionally he's hurt from this as opposed to physically," Finkel said. "We need some time to tell."

Promoter Bob Arum, who had planned to offer Tyson a four-fight deal worth some $100 million if he looked good, said that deal was now off the table.

For Tyson to continue, Arum said, he would have to fight for a few hundred thousand dollars a fight to build his record back up before becoming a contender again.

"Certainly it's a different Mike Tyson than there was in our estimation last night," Arum said. "If he's going to continue in the ring it's got to be done on a completely different basis. He's got to fight C and D fighters and build his confidence. You can't put him in with legitimate heavyweights."

Tyson's fight drew a crowd of 17,253 to Freedom Hall, most thinking they would see an early knockout of Williams, whose biggest claim to fame was that he was the former British heavyweight champion.

But, after a shaky first round, Williams fought back and turned the tide late in the third round as Tyson appeared to tire. The fight was a free-for-all, but Williams was stronger and fresher and landed a series of unanswered punches in the fourth round before Tyson went down and the fight was stopped at 2:51 of the round.

"The main thing was to get past the first two rounds and give it to him," Williams said. "I knew he would tire and he did. I just kept punching and punching."

Tyson is washed up. He doesn't have the mental capacity to be a fighter anymore. I took Williams to win in 4 rounds or under. turned my $500 bet into a nice wad of cash !

If his ligament is really torn, that is one thing. But the look on his face as he was getting his ass beat and as he was against the ropes say something more internal, mental, was going on. Oh granted it COULD have been that he was realizing that he was going to lose his potential deal for future fights, but I dunno..... it looked more like the look a man gets when he knows he's lost it. Ive followed him since the beginning and Im just not buying that whole ligament story. I cant get that look on his face out of my mind. Thats just my take on it.

Mike Tyson lost again.. shocking! .... lol. They tlaked about nothing else on sportscenter this last week except Mike Tyson and Ricky Williams. It is too bad b/c I actually like Tyson. I think he is a product of bad decisions he has made, but also lots of people have taken advantage of him over the years and I do feel bad for him. He probably gonna keep doin the fighting thing thou to get out of debt since I don't know what the hell else he is gonna do. maybe he could be an analyst or something, who knows?! Either way, like Mik said, it is what it is right.. He certainly is not the champ that our boy Tev is thou, thats fo sho!! ha ha thasss right boy

Its a Gibson 67 re-issue that I had hot rodded with Seymore Duncan LiveWire Metal pickups and a custom made mirror pickguard to look like Paul Stanly's Destroyer tour V. Thanks for the compliment, she looks even more awesome on stage.

FYI, I have several Randys (2 in Jackson's custom shop right now - yeah Im a Jackson man) one old Dean V, an Ibanez Destroyer, and an Ibanez Paul Stanley PS10 Iceman. Peace and love right back at ya my man.

I like Mike Tyson too. Even named a PitBull after him. Damned thing looked like him too....

Anyways, yes he is the product of bad decisions made by him. Im not sure he is going to keep fighting though. Before this fight, he had a tentative deal with promoter Bob Arum for 100 million in 3 fights. This would have allowed him to clear up that 38 million in back taxes.

Well that deal is off the table now.

Bob himself said that after this loss that if Mike wants to keep fighting, he will have to face C and D level fighters and work himself back to contender status.

I dont think thats going to happen because in this fight, it was very clear as he sat on the canvas leaning against the ropes that he did not wish to go on. The excuse is that he tore a ligament and was unable to throw his once vicious right hand. The reality however, is that he is 38 years old, and does not have the speed or stamina to fight more than a couple of rounds with anyone serious. Hell he hasnt really beat anyone since Razor Ruddock some more than 10 years ago. He has never been a long distance fighter to begin with, and in middle age this is exactly what he will have to do. But the promoters are saying that from all aspects, its hard to imagine anyone paying good money to see him fight again. So he no longer has that deal open to him. The options are limited for a fighter thats been knocked out twice in his last three fights and doesnt seem to have the heart to go on anymore. Hell the referee gave him extra time to get up.

    He didnt.

If he fights, he will have to settle for a few hundred thousand per fight, not the cool millions he usually gets. Even so, in this fight he was making 8 million but he is only going to keep 2 million because the rest is going to pay back his back taxes. So now his lawyers are wondering how he will make 32 million when he's not going to be making millions if he decides to fight again. And you can be sure that Mike will spend that 2 mill before the year is over, or those lawyers will take it all in attorney fees while they "ponder" his options.

Tyons is going to have trouble paying off his debts now.....

He's not much different than most Americans....broke and in debt...but he still works.

Yep it is sweetlook'n homey! I've got a 70 gibson V. I'm totally into tha Strat thing. Been play'n Strats( I own 27 of them) for tha last 25 yrs ha ha.I'm sponsered by Jagmin pick-ups and they make'em special for me.Got rid of my floyds as I've found wit a good set up you really don't need them.I enjoy a good solid feel to my wammy bars, and after I played one of Vai's guitars one nite, I noticed that believe it or not my rebuilt stock tremelo units after they had been reworked worked smoother than Steve's.These days I don't play as "rough" on my axes as I used to. I've always been more into tha Fusion thing ( Allan Holdworth,John McLaughin,Shawn Lane,Greg Howe, Tony MacAlpine, Scott Henderson, etc)so I tend to use a legato style quite a bit which is why I enjoy the feel of a Strat neck. I've scalloped my fretboards bout 20 yrs ago and it's tha only way to go for me. I think it' allows for a faster legato. The only time I don't play scalloped neck is when I'm play'n Be Bop or straight ahead Jazz then I use either my gibson super 400 or my gibson. ES-175( modeled after tha Monarch 1955 version used by Joe Pass, and Wes Montgomery, I just seen John Scofield play'n one. Yeah V hit me on my PM and we can kick tha axe thang for real. Damn, I was just going to post that.

Oh well I'm glad he lost that cocky canibal.
Rember The Hollyfield Ear incident? LOL.

Anyway he deserves to get some of his own medicine.

I used to like him as a boxer back when I was a kid playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out on the original NES Nintendo.

I used to look up to him when I was a kid but as I got older I saw what type of person he really is & how he treats women.

    I'm glad he lost.

After what he did to Hollyfield & his girlfriend more than once I lost all respect for him.

What did he do to Holyfield's wife? But I was expecting Tyson to win but that just goes to show that Tyson is washed up. No one is scared of him anymore like people used to be.

Yo I feel ya, Mike ain't tha "picture of virture" but let's keep it real, Holyfield ain't gett'n knighted for sainthood either.I've had tha chance to kick it wit Mike on a different level and he's just I guy that was have'n to much fun wit too much money, too fast. Tha uncool part is really nobody REALLY gave a fuck bout him as just Mike, everybody loved tha "Champ". When Cus died really so did Mike. I give Mike every credit for being responsible, for make'n tha Heavyweight division wake back up when he was on his game. Heavyweights started come'n in at respectable weights, all that stand'n around and lean'n on each other changed when Mike was " Iron Mike". I ain't make'n any excuses for Mike rages, but come on now at 21 yrs old to go from tha getto and hated to mega rich and worshipped in 60 seconds has got to be a muthafucka!I do think that as in most things in boxing you can trace tha beginning of Mike's "Fall from Grace"to who else DON KING !! Tha right connection for mad chedder ,but tha Devil in tha flesh. Tha cat has fucked more people than John Holmes. Mike just got twisted up in tha game. Now it's over. Peace and Love

I meant what Tyson did to Hollyfield's ear & Tyson's own girlfriend as he used to beat on her & rape charges.

He's gonna keep on fighting just 4 the money! Not because he can win. If he doesn't win, then he won't get the big money.

yeah tyson lost pretty badly..but i can't blame him for fighting. He's like 38 mil in debt. It's all about the skrilla and dollo at this point. The only thing that's scary about Tyson anymore is that tat that looks like a scar gone wrong above his left eye.lol

"preciate it bro. She thanks you too.

Check this out on the flip side homey...I used to own the very first Charvel with a Floyd. At least so I was told. Back in the early 80s you couldnt get the Floyds without buying a Kramer, but I got hooked up on the groovey side by a good cat that worked at an independent retailer here. It was a pearl white Charvel that I was going to add a black pickguard to so it would look like Jake E Lee's, who is my alltime favorite guitarist.

BUT.......I cannot stand strat shaped guitars. They hurt my right shoulder playing standing and they feel too damn weird. So I traded it in for my first Randy. Vs fit me better and they look cooler too, I think. Im all about the pointy guitars my man.

I got to handle one of Steve's gals too, but I didnt get to play it. Joe Satriani, Paul Stanley, Zakk Wylde, DimeBagg....Ive checked them all out close up but never played any of them. To be honest I never asked. But Dave Mustaine's I was dying to play. He was being a dick though.

Legato? Coolness. I dont know what the hell you would call what I do but its been decribed as close to Zakk's. I cant play the scalloped necks. I use guage 11 strings and 3.0 mm picks and I pick every note. Im just a a little squirell in a big studio lookin for a note.

Ya hit me on the PM. I dont know much but I know what I know.

I think most everyone worshipped Tyson in his early stages of boxing. He definately could have gone down in history as one of the great boxers.. But because of his screwed up head and temper he built a lousy reputation for himself fast as a bum fighter. He made his millions and blew all his money living the good life. I think he even had 3 nice houses at one point.

It really seems like a waste for a fighter who had such potential to throw it all away like he did. I remember him at age 21/22, he was like a bullet...nobody could touch him.. Then after getting his ass tossed in jail and all the issues... he was out of touch and lost the best years of his life. I believe that the women involved tried to manipulate him for his money, but Tyson screwed himself over by letting it happen. Now at age 38 like others have mentioned, he will fight anyone for the money to try to get out of debt. It's to bad it has to go down that way when he had the world by the ass.

He did hurt williams in the first round... and could have had it there...but I think he was just overcome by his age..

Williams proved to be the man. After surviving the first round of punishment he seemed to prevail in every round. Tyson says he hurt his legiment... Well that's the breaks and can happen to any boxer. But you can't use that as an excuse. I hate when you hear boxers in their testimonies trying to justify their loses..

    well said Randy, I agree.

I used to be a Tyson fan late 80's early 90's, now he is a washed up bum and I do not think he deserves to fight pro anymore.

The sad thing is that he probably will not retire and end up getting permanentely damaged like Ali did. Tysons reflexes have slowed considerably and once he gets hit a few times, his head goes into limbo and thats a very dangerous scenario. He was hit with 26 unanswered punches before he went down against Williams. Its testimony to Tysons chin because any other fighter would have gone down after four or five shots but he was very static and there was no lateral movement. Mike became a sitting duck in that fourth round and I dont want to see him take any more beatings like that. He is one of the all time greats of boxing and in his day, could not be touched by any of these fighters who are beating him today.
Retire Mike and live in peace.

I think that he is in debt to Uncle Sam... So he may go back to prison. I would sell what I have, and flee the country

yup, he owes some $38 million to the government.

how stupid does one have to be to blow $300 million in 15 years and still be millions in debt?

Heh.. way fucking stupid. Although I think he was taken advantage of by King.

I remember reading in Maxim a few years back, that he had 2 full grown Bengal tigers. He said that he would let them rest their paws on his shoulders and he would punch them in the sides, and they wouldnt even flinch. He also let all his friends stay/eat at his houses for free.

testimonies trying to justify their loses..
It's the same with pro sports, they have to give some sort of explaination.

But yeah Tyson could've had the fight at the point you mentioned.

BUt I think you're right about those women trying to manipulate Tyson for his $$$$$$. He let them get to him & had all that frustration built up about it & then reacted in a bad way that got his ass in jail.

I don't know if you remember a running back named Fred Lane? He was with the Carolina Panthers I believe in 1999 & 2000 & was scheduled to paly with the Indianapolis Colts in either 2001 or 2002.

Fred Lane just finished I think it was a $2million or $3million life insurance plan.
Well his wife or girlfriend, I think it was his wife was always causing constant arguing with him.

Then one night the neighbours heard gun shots from within Fred Lane's house & she killed him but claims it was an accident & the gun went off.

The law enforcement came to the conclusion that she was trying to get his money from his life insurance plan as that would be her primary motive as she would get all of it provided something happened.

In the end she didn't get any of Fred Lane's money b/c of that & I think she went to Jail.

So it's women like these that get inside your brain & make you crazy which is what happened to Tyson I think with his girlfriend.

The Montreal Alouettes CFL football team in 2002 when they won the Grey Cup had ex St.Louis Rams Running Back Lawrence Philips who did very well & had about 1000 yards that year.

He was in trouble with the law b/c of sexual assault charges called forth by his girlfriend that he lived with.

He then went to the Calgary Stampeders but didn't do much there.

But LP was always in trouble even in St. Louis & then he left Canada as he didn't want to face the sexual assault charges.
