    Michael Phelps

Well looks like he's on his way for his quest to beat Spitz's record of 7 golds. Broke his own world record in the 400m individual medley too.

Wow! .41 to .26 thats ALOT in swimming! as an ex-swimmer myself, i was so xcited to watch this race. i remember being on the team in high school and talking with my teamates that were gonna be in the same event as I was, and we would get each other so pumped for the race to get 1st and 2nd place.
Thats exacly what Phelps and Vednt did, they got 1,2, gold and silver! and Phelps broke his own world record he had set earlier in the prelims and set Another World Record!

id also like to add that im not lifting/dieting as religously i once was but i am a part of a masters swim team 3xs/week. + fitness is fun again

Well looks like he can only attempt to tie after the U.S. finished third in the 400m freestyle relay. Either way though, his marketability after the games is awesome. Spitz could have made so much money in endorsements, but he was a jerk lol.

You know, American "fans" piss me off. Here's a 19 year old guy who has won THREE medals in three events this year, and all people want to talk about is what he HASN'T won. Fuck, if people think it's so easy to win gold medals, let's see them get their asses off the couch and give it a go.

As far as losing the 200m Freestyle to Ian Thorpe, Phelps was not even supposed to race in that event since he was a heavy underdog, but he insisted on going up against Thorpe anyway. He finished exactly where he was "supposed to" in that race.

*aggies1nut, this is not direced at you, I am just ranting in general at stupid U.S fans*

Tack on another 2 golds for Phelps today.
And IAB, I took no offense. My comment about being 19, referred to the fact that he's so young and has many more opportunities in the events that he excels at. The media put all the hype on breaking Spitz's record, when this is just a young kid with a lot of swimming left in him.

That pissed me off too. I was watching and hearing people saying how dissappointed they are Personally I think he's kicking ass! That kid has so much going for him now with his wins. He's 19 years old and he's got alot more medals ahead of him too.
