Olympic sports... favourite and most redundant?

Just curious as to which Olympic event people here would most like to do, it can be either summer or winter events or both.
Also, I frequently hear people arguing over Olympic events they feel don't belong in the Olympics, so, which Olympic event do you feel is most redundant?

Summer - Beach Volleyball (on the cusp for me as being something that doesn't seem like it should be an Olympic event but appeals to me the most!!)

Winter - Speed Skating (closely followed by Luge because it's another thing that looks like it would be a blast!)

    Most Redundant - Synchronized Swimming

I'd like to do fencing. There's just something about one on one battling with swords. Cool stuff. The Bravo channel showed a lot of fencing this year.

For the winter games, I agree on the luge. I would pick downhill slalom skiing, but I already know how to ski (granted NOTHING like those Olympians can!).

What about that dancing shit? That belongs in the olympics about as much as a hot-dog eating contest.

I know I will take some Grief for this, but anything that gets judged at the olympics, should be dropped. It is all political BS.

I tend to agree with you.
I still don't get how (despite the fact the scoring was wayyyy off) that an audience reaction can get two of the judges to changes their scores, unless there is a genuine calculation error... talk about bs.

Like: Summer - weightlifting, gymnastics, track and field, boxing, judo, ladies beach volleyball, fuk - ANYTHING athletic!

Winter: luge, bobsled, ski jump, skeleton, downhill.

    Most redundant: Summer
    1) Ping pong...come the fuk on....who is actually proud to be known as a "ping pong gold medalist"??? I refuse to see it but I wonder what it actually takes to stand up there on the podium with a straight face and recieve a gold medal in ping-fuking-pong!

    2) Shooting. Give me a fuking break. I was a marksman in the Marines and Ive been on shooting teams before and there is NOTHING of Olympic quality athletics about shooting a god damned rifle.

    3) Equestrian. This is self explanatory. Major dipshit event.

    4) Badmiton. Ok, its strenuous, but c'mon.....ping-fuking-pong with a different name.

Did someone mention dancing? We talkin Ballroom dancing? I didnt know that was an Olympic event. I'll get flamed for this but I love BR dancing. Its the shiznit and its really demanding. I can see it as a sport......but I dont know that Id go as far as calling it Olympic worthy.

    Most redundant: Winter
    1) Aerial freestyles. It may be challenging but......c'mon. Olympic?? I dont think so.

    2) Curling. Sorry, it just looks stupid.
