Two teams is enough for me.
the Wilt vs. MJ thread is driving me nuts. so i figure one way to look at it is this....
Please write down your starting 5 for an All NBA all time team, IN ORDER that you'd draft them. feel free to write in the other 7 to make a complete team. this should be interesting. the 7 bench players are listed in no particular order.
Just copy and paste mine, then erase the names and fill in your own...
mine is as follows...
David Stern: "And with the 1st pick, in the 2004 All NBA All Time draft, the IM Meatheads select, Michael Jordan, from the Chicago Bulls" (sorry, had to add for effect)
Starting 5
1. Michael Jordan
2. Larry Bird
3. Magic Johnson
4. Wilt Chamberlain
5. Bill Russell
Bench
6. Julius Erving
7. Pete Maravich
8. Shaquille O'Neal
9. Kareem Abdul Jabar
10. I'M FUCKIN STUMPED...there's TOO many players
11. I'll wait to see who you guys come up with, then choose my last 3
12.
Enjoy, bitches
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

Wow, no Shaq at all, yet you have Duncan in the top 5. Suprising, didn't know you were a Spurs fan.Originally Posted by camarosuper6

Well Im thinking in order of position. Shaq is probably a Top 10 all time player, but funny thing is hes MAYBE a Top 5 center IMO. Id put him behind Wilt, Russell, Kareem, and Olajuwan.
As far as pure talent goes hes behind a few more people like Robinson, Ewing, Moses Malone, and Bill Walton.
Anyone remember Brad Daughtery and Ralph Sampson. Two TOTALLY talented big guys whos injuries cut their careers.![]()

IMO Duncan is the best power foward of all time. As dominant as Shaq? No. More talented than Shaq. Certainly.yet you have Duncan in the top 5

That's where we certainly disagree, my friend.Originally Posted by camarosuper6

Hmmm... good point. Id still have to put him behind Isaiah though. I like Thomases talent/heart/ballsy attitude.

I dont see why people think Shaq is so talented. He didnt have a lot of great moves. He didnt have a decent shot (unless he was about 3 ft from the basket), he wasnt very quick or have great footwork. His defense was OK, and he wasnt much of a leader. He was big, strong and big and strong. Sure that makes him dominant, but if he wasnt 75lbs heavier than the next biggest guy in the league, he would be average at best.

This ought to get Flex a little confused..
Starters
1. Jordan
2. Magic
3. Bird
4. Kareem
5. Dr. J
Bench
6. Isiah
7. Bill Russell
8. Tim Duncan
9. Hakeem
10. Wilt
11. Stockton
12. who cares at this point
......
51. Shaq - When Jerry West said that getting Shaq was "The greatest thing that ever happened to the Lakers" I stopped being a Lakers fan.
Let me see...Originally Posted by camarosuper6

He is the argueably the BEST center of all time. Doesn't matter how big he is. You're gonna tell me he's THAT much bigger than Zo, Ewing, Hakeem etc. etc.? Sure, he weighs a little more, but that's about it.
Up until last year, you couldn't stop the freakin' guy.....hence the invention: "Hack-a-Shaq"

Dominant at the time doesnt mean dominant now. Some of these teams would be damn fun to watch though!Originally Posted by Flex
