    Post early NBA season....

well after tonights Sonics/Spurs game I think I have some rubbing in to do over a few fellows named Camaro and DD..ha ha My Sonics are 16-3 and have the best record in the league, not to mention beating the Spurs tonight in San An and handing it to them in Seattle earlier by quite a bit. They have to be the biggest suprise so far besides the Suns whoo are also playing great ball. Man the sonics are on point thou, Ray Allen is hands down the best shooter in the league, and Danny Fortson have given them the mental toughness and aggressiveness on the glass that they needed so badly. Not only are they winning but they are unbelievably exciting to watch play. I am exstatic and holdin' my breath at the same time.

anyways whose your guys biggest suprise and biggest bust this seasonso far. We always talk old school, but lets talk this season in this thread eh folx... let it beknown

^^yeah but they were on the trail end of a 6 game road trip and their losing streak had to end sometime. We will see how it goes down in Key Arena soon. The celts are bad, they need alot more than just paul pierce taking bad shots all the time

Pierce has shot them out of games for the most part. LaFrentz has played well, I've loved what I have seen out of Davis and Welsch. Payton has lived up to his name. Allen, Jefferson, Perkins are showing promise.

The two downfalls and the reason for not being able to win games on the road is Paul Pierce forcing shots, and absolutely no inside presence unless Mark Blount decides to show up on that given night.

The Celtics might be a year away, but I think they can do something this year with the group of guys they have.

Not really that I am suprised, but for biggest suprise the Cavs and Lebron James. The kid keeps throwing up consistent numbers everynight, and has turned that team into a playoff hopefull.

As for biggest disappointment of course VC and the Raps. I would have thought VC would step it up to improve his numbers to get the trade he so badly wants.

Also the Rockets with T-mac and Yao. They have done jack, with two big superstar players, I expected better, mind you they are weak in there other positions, that balance out them excelling with those two players Mind you T-mac is a Jack ass who needs to just shut it and play ball

I gotta give the Sonics major props. Amazing start, and all that. But even if they continue to tear it up for the rest of the regular season, once it gets down to the real season, any team with a quality big man will hand 'em their asses.

Well, Ill give the Sonics this. They are a helluva jump shootin team, and the move the ball very well. Props to em!

HOWEVER (and you knew this was coming gr81) you know that live by the J, die by the J. Teams that rely on jumpshooting have a history of starting off seasons very well, and fizzling during the playoffs. But hey, Sonics are doing well, Ill give that to em.

Biggest suprise to me besides the Sonics is the lack of power in Houston. I thought they were gonna do a little more this season. Dissapointing.

Mark another one down for the Supes, beating the Mavs in Dallas. Back to back wins in texas. I agree that you can live and die with the J of course, but they have so many shooters that a few can go cold and othars will pick it up. And don't underestmate the post presence of Reggie Evans and Danny Fortson, they aren't scorers but they are intense and persistant on the glass. I thought through the first ten games it was just luck but I am convinced, their success is not luck, they are playing their asses of on both sides of the court and running thier offense to the T. I don't think they will fold anytime soon, McMillan has finally got this team playin his style of ball.

On the Houston tip, I knew Houston would not be a great team, people overestimate Yao Ming, he is not the dominant force that people tihkn he will be, too passive and inconsistant, and McGrady is a scorer and thats it, I love him, but he doesn't make his teammates better. They have no PG and thats gonna hurt them alopng with their bench with is not deep enough.

Sonics have started out good, but if it came down to Playoffs I think the Spurs, Suns or Mavs would take care of em no problem.

I totally agree, never could understand why they made such a big deal about him. Yes, there aren't really any centers in the NBA worth shit these days (aside from The Big Ignoramus in Miami), and yes it is really cool to see a 7'5" Chinese guy, but come on people! He's just not that good.

Yup that trade killed Hou's depth....what little they had anyway. Yao will be dominant soon enough. He is too passive though.

actually he's been injured the entire season, he should be back in thenext few games from what I have heard, but I am kindof worried about that. See who do you take playin time away from, he's a 2 guard and maybe Allen could benefit from sitting a few minutes, but Antonio Daniels is clutch, Ridnour is playin his ass off and handles the ball better than anyone else on the team. We also have Potepenko on the IR comin back soon, so we'll have another body in the paint. We shall see I guess

I understand why people say that, whenever you see a big man with the mobility, footwork, and soft touch like he does its unbelievably rare and Ming has great potential, he is just too soft. He lacks that killer instinct that makes Shaq great. You constantly see him get his shots blocked?! I think that was a bad trade for Houston defn. Speaking of suprises thou, howabout teh Magic! they are playing ten times better than they were last fwew years, and its great to see Steve Franchise in teh open court doin what he is capable of. He was way too restricted in Houston. Grant Hill playin well too, gotta love that

Seattle is a good team, but after that 35 seconds of nonsense last night I'm speechless.

Spurs are still favorites but Phoenix and Seattle are amazing. Seattle has got to be one of the best shooting teams I've seen

He's been excellent thus far both on and off the court. He doesn't so much want to be in Boston as he considers this Celtic a team a year or two away from winning a Championship which is a definite downfall, but he appears to be loving the time hes having in Boston making this team grow.

He's already been quoted as saying that two years down the road when this team is destined for glory that he will look back and say, "I helped these kids grow."

He's a class act, a real team player, and for what everyone was saying at the beginning of the year, he has a been huge success and hit in Boston.

I can't believe that we have lost two to Boston this season, wtf!? The sonics couldn't hit a jump shot to save their life tonight. Funny that they have played their worst ball of the season against boston and the clippers.. Anyways I read that Gary was looking to finish his career in seattle if he could, which would be awesome for all Seattle fans. I don't thikn it will happen but one could only hope. And despite the Celts win tonight Soxmuscle, Boston is more than a year away from a champiomship contention, believe that. They are one of the worst teams in the league consistently and their front office dioesn't seem to want to change that. They are about10 huge pieces away from a championship run, and I guarantee Paul Pierce is not going to be apart of a title team

Paul Pierce not a part of the title team? That's like saying Kobe not part of the Laker 3-peat. All the Celts need is a good big man.

eighteen year old Al Jefferson is proving to be one of the elite power forwards in the league in a year or two. On top of Lafrentz, who I have been very impressed with, and West, Allen, and Davis off the bench.

    Ten pieces away, your incredible.

It's funny that for the 23 minutes he was in the game, Tony Allen was the best player on the court. Something to think about.

I agree with Gr81 on the Pierce. Not all players know how to win.
