Babe, didn't he use like a 46 oz. bat, plus had like 5000 less at bats than Aaron or something like that? would like to see someone present use a 46 oz. bat. Talk about a piece of lumber!!!

Hank was great too. The Babe was also a great pitcher who still had some unbroken pitching records just recently broken a few years ago.

My top 3 are the following.
Babe Ruth---For a fat jolly guy he kicked ass.
Willie Mays---Unfortunatly, I got to see him at the end of his career. He was a true 5 tool player "Say Hey Kid"
Lou Gehrig----His power was amazing, he would he a line drive towards an outfielder who thought they have a chance to catch only to see it go over for a homer.

    Where's Kareem Garcia?

How can Babe not be the best? The guy was lightyears ahead of his time. Not to mention he was overweight, smoked and drank as his other "job".
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

No single player has ever revolutionized a sport like Babe Ruth did. Before Babe, baseball was all about "small ball"...singles, stolen bases, moving one base at a time. Babe Ruth turned baseball into a game of power.

I have to vote for Babe since he was not concerned with athleticism but arguabley the best hitter ever. You gotta love his personality and bad habits. He revolutionized baseball.

Cy Young, I ran out of spots. Plus I had to make space for the other great Dimaggio.

Ruth witout question... Those are some great names though. The only people who would have a shot at surpassing Ruth's domination of the game are Bonds on roids and me...
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless those who bless me as I gladly accept their blessings, and curse those who curse me all the while protecting me for any evils. In Christ name, amen...

I wish we had a time machine and could transport a 'natural' Barry Bonds back to the same year as Ruth's hitting debut. In kind, bring Ruth to hit starting in Bonds rookie season and give the fat ass some roids. Bonds would SO CLEARLY blow away Ruth's 714, and Ruth would be minor league material against true major league pitching, it would be embarrassing.

Can you imagine if "that Fat Ass" had worked out and layed off the booze, he probably would have hit 100 homers in a season and hot 1500 homers for his career.

Yeah, but that would never happen.

babe ruth was hitting more home runs in a season than entire divisions when he played. the dude was an animal. thats like bonds hitting a home run every time he gets up to the plate. and lets not forget that babe ruth was a great athlets as well. yeah he did get fat and slow, but in his youth he played pitcher, outfield, and anywhere else they needed him. plus he had a curse on the red sox that lasted like 70 years. thats pretty cool to be able to curse a former team for that long

He isnt really an old timer, but I thnk ozzie smith probably had one of the nicest plays in baseball when he dove for a ball, the ball took a weird bounce and he quickly barehanded it. It was amazing, and where is MICKY?
