Yeah, that's pretty lame that he is keeping the ball because he might be poor someday. WTF, he's already earned over $5 million in his career and will probably earn another $10 million before it's over. Yeah, his kids will need the college money the ball might bring in.

I'd like to see him turn the ball over to the Red Sox or the Hall of Fame. That said, MLB did say the ball belongs to him, so I guess he can do as he pleases, but that does not mean he isn't a fuckhead for it.

I would like to know how they determine that. What is it, the last person that touches the ball is the legal owner ? that's fucking lame as hell...

Actually, I think that's ECACTLY the case. Just like with a foul ball or home run ball, whoever catches it keeps it.

It's because of that, I'm not really sure I agree with you guys. The ball is his, he can do with it as he pleases. Where I think he's an idiot is to come out and say he's keeping it for the money. What a MORON. If you have to open your stupid mouth at least say something intelligent, "This ball represents a milestone in the history of Boston, in the history of baseball and in the history of my life. I'm going to cherish it forever and every time I look at it, it will remind me of the love I have for this city, this team and our fans." That may not win over everybody, but it sure as hell won't piss them off the way he has by being a greedy dumbass.

Come on guys, don't feed on Dan Shaunessy's bullshit. The guy single handedly created what was once the "curse," don't let this dink wreak more havoc on players.

As hard as it is to say, I am going with ALbob on this one. The ball is his and the Sox want it. What do they want it for? So they can display it in a museum type place. Does this place charge money for entry? So in essence, the Sox want the ball back for free so they can charge $5 entry fee to see it.

I think dude should loan it to the hall of fame for a year or 2 and then do what he wants with it afterwards. In 2 years no one is going to care about the frickin thing anyway. Some dumbass Sox fan will pay six figures for it, let the dude sell it.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.
