hang it up! he needs to go.
Much speculation on if he is going to be around next year or not. An article I found. What do you all think? I would LOVE to see him around next year, so I say dont retire.

No way. He should stay. He is healthy and still play one heck of a football game. He's got another playoff shot next year, and I'd like to see him play again.
The only reason I would say to retire is because of his wife, as far as abililty goes, he is STILL one of the best qb's in the league, and has another year in him. If he retires, it should be to spend more time with his wife.

Brett's physical skills may have slipped a bit in the past couple of years, but he still has the knack for winning. Yes, you can say this season disproves that, but I disagree. He throws the ball better than 95% of the QB's in the league, he just doesn't run all that well. Big deal, there's a whole laundry list of successful QB's that either can't or couldn't run very well.
My one knock against Brett and the sports reporters around the world is that rediculous play this past weekend where he just gave up and tossed the ball into the endzone after he was already four yards past the line of scrimmage. If it were any other QB in the league they would have been ripping him a new asshole for not trying to make the first down. Yes, I know, he probably wouldn't have made it. That doesn't make up for the fact that he didn't even TRY. To me, that was the exact instant they lost that game. He just gave up and gave the Viqueens the game without a fight.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???
I say "Play Ball" Maybe he'd like to finish his career with the Rams!!!![]()

you would rather have favre (at this point in his career) than bulger?![]()

WHY THE @#$% would he go to the RAMS? Booooo RAMS
And to be honest, he would do way better the bulger, I am sorry but I dont see how you could think bulger even right now is better then Favre....

He has a lifetime contract with the Green Bay Packers. He will never play for another team, ever. He aged quite a bit in the Wild Card game last week alone. I think he'll come back for atleast one more year possibly longer depending on when they get there quote on quote heir to the throne.
i'm not a rams fan or a bulger fan....but i still wouldn't think the rams would take favre for bulger this late in his career. (which is a weird hypothetical anyway)
we can definitely see that favre has slowed down but even an older favre is better than a lot of the qbs playing in the league. (but not better than daunte culpepper)

Do you think he could benefit from a good running back like Elway did with the Broncos.
cosign...his days of winning are over..just look at all the picks he had this yearOriginally Posted by P-funk
Chuck Norris once lost his keys and couldn't remember where he put them. So he tortured himself for half an hour until he gave up their location.

Sure he's older now, but he is still better than most of the quarterbacks in the NFL today. He is still among the 10 best.

I don't really buy that. If you go back and look at the films from this season I think you'll find 90-95% of those picks were the fault of his receivers. This past weekend is the perfect example, his receivers ran absolutely terrible routes. When you rely on timing the way the pros do, that receiver has GOT to be in the right place at the right time. If not, it's Interception City.Originally Posted by oaktownboy

totally agree w/albob. the stats from last week's game don't look good for favre but if you saw the game - the routes the receivers ran were to blame for the picks.

SO true.
Don't get me wrong, i think he's a great, classy athlete, and i absolutely respect his heart, but IMO Favre gets too much credit for his team's success. He gets all the credit when they win, but he gets no blame when they lose (like when he throws 3 picks).
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.
