Are the Wide Reciever/Running Back positions overrated?

Am I the only one who thinks an offense lives and dies by its QB and offensive lines?

Yes I would say you are. Did you see how much the Eagles improved with T.O? Did you see how much the chargers improved with L.T?

Are you kidding? The Eagles were the best team in the NFC without T.O. Now their the best team in the NFC WITH T.O. The Chargers became a powerhouse when Brees starting playing well. LT was a superstar his first 3 years on the Chargers and they sucked.

Look, im not saying their worthless positions. Just look at the Broncos. Everyone raives about their newest back but as soon as they leave and play on another team their mediocre. Why? Its because theior O Line has been one of th ebest for the past 10 years.

Just look at the Patriots. On paper they have mediocre talent. Yet they have one of the best QBs in the leage and a average - good offensive line.

No, I am not kidding. They were not the best team in the NFC before T.O. Did you see them in the Super Bowl without T.O at all? Ya, there you go. I would pick an awesome O-line over a stud RB. I think the O-line and QB are more important then WR's and RB's. I think a team can make it to the playoffs with a star RB or WR and a shitty QB and O-line. So I disagree with your orignal post.

My original post was pretty harsh. I see that we dont think too differently now.

Im just pissed of because Im a Bills fan that has Willis Mcgahee, Eric Moulds, and Lee Evans on one of the worst offenses in the leage.

I think it is a trade off, you need one from each to field a good team. So you would need either a good O-Line or QB AND a good WR or RB.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Its an absolute mess in Buffalo right now.

PS: Whenever you guys want to learn about another team DONT listen to the nation media. All these guys say is how Holcomb saved the Bills and the season is turned around because of him. For some reason they also still think our defense is good and its average at best.

I agree that the Offensive Line is a HUGE part of a teams' success. Most NFL quarterbacks will do well with a great OL. But I don't necessarily think that WR and RB are overrated.

I've been saying for over a decade now that Emmitt Smith was NOT one of the best RB's in history. His fame came because he was running behind the greatest O line in history and one of the best blocking backs in history. You want to see something special? Put Barry Sanders behind the Dallas O line from Emmitt's days. You'd be looking at a 3,000 yard season. (Or more.)
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

Thats why Terreall Davis looked so good. Wide Recievers are so overrated is insane.

with a strong O line you can pass long and run the ball with confidence...it's always been that way, it's the nature of the game
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Didn't the Eagles win the NFC Championship game without T.O.?

A stud receiver or running back can put the team on his back and win a couple of games, but to win alot of games you need to win the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball.
