    Bowl Schedule Sucks

I remember the days where there would be a bowl party on new years day and we'd stack tv's on top of each other and watch all the major bowls all day long. WTF is with this 2 bowls a day every day for two weeks long? I think it sucks and cheapens them all.

Bowls are supposed to be on New Years Day, Jan. 1. However, this year, Jan.1 falls on a Sunday. The NFL owns the contract rights to Sunday stating that they are the only football allowed to be showen on that day. So, all the bowl games have to be moved to other days to accomdate the NFL's contract. In order to make it the most profitable as they can I guess the NCAA has decided to spread them out as much as possible to get as many viewers as they can....where as if they were all to be on mon, Jan 2, some people would be partial to watching certain games over others.

I understand the NFL thing, but they have been doing this progressively for a few years now. They have been putting the good games (bcs) on the nights after new years and the championship (should it work out that way) on its own night. I just liked the good old barrage of all the good games on new years day. Now it's all commercialized, like you said. All about money, selling ad spots and exclusive coverage. Sports, collegiate and pro are all about $$$$$$$$$$$$ and it sucks.

I agree. I love it the old way too. Sit there and watch all the bowl games in one day! It was awesome. I hate how they are spread out now. College Sports are just cashing in and getting theres now. It sucks but the world revolves around money.

I don't mind them being spread out so much (given that there are so many of them, which I think is kinda crazy) but to put the championship game on Tuesday night?
