I personally think MMA is safer than boxing since chances are you're going to get hit more times in a boxing match and you can also be unconscious and have the opportunity to get up multiple times by 10 count.

Bill O'ghey is a tool. I don't really like Dana White either though. I do like UFC.

I def. see more brutal knockouts in MMA. But the difference is in MMA, once you're out, you're out. If the ref sees any sign of unconsciousness, it's pretty much over unless you can defend yourself immediately after being knocked down. In boxing, you can get knocked unconscious multiple times, making yourself more susceptible to permanent brain injury after the first time.

I'm sure there are more arm, leg, knee, ect. injuries in MMA due to the different attacks. But boxers are probably more at risk of the more important permanet injuries (head/brain).

MMA is good about stopping fights, boxing has made some improvements in that area in the last decade. As far as head injurys it might be even or boxing might be worse, but in boxing it is unheard of to have your Radius and/or ulna snapped, or your shoulders dislocated or worse.

Yeah since MMA is 100% UFC, and I've never heard of PRIDE, and the only fighter I know is chuck lidell, I'd say MMA.

I'm guessing part of it is because of MMA's increasing popularity and young kids who see it and wanna fight more or whatever.

Signing up to join the Army is dangerous the government still encourages people to do that.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Dana should have been better prepared as the bullshit study Oriely pulled out of his ass was based on no scientific facts at all....the fact Dana knew nothing about it made him look like a fool though, which seriously sux as he has done SOOOOOOO much for UFC and MMA in N. America the past couple of years.
