Whos going to win the world cup?

    Its heating up.....
The worlds population are on the edge of their seats living through a roller coaster of emotions as the stage moves to its climax. Beers are thrown at TVs, grown men cry, wives and girlfriends despair as theyre men ignore them and focus intently on the preceedings. But the $64m question is..
Whos going to lift the Cup at the end?

My tips Argentina - the complete footballing side, total skill, tacticaly astute and tough. And a certain Mr Messi.

2nd - Brazil - absolute class & Ronaldinios a genius, even fatty ronaldo will start smacking them in left right and centre.

Contenders - Germany, looking good, Home support.
Italy , cynical tacticaly masterful, and dirty when neeeded.
England - Pretty boy tossers, but classy in midfield and defence, and have Shrek up front to cause damage.
Holland & Spain, skillful and a joy to watch, questionable temperament.

    Whats your tips?

And Italy moves on by Totti's PK. Great game, sucks for Australia after all that that it comes down to a stupid foul. I was looking forward to OT's and PK's, just happy that Italy won.

are you serious, there was no foul there! it was a bad call by the ref, typical Italian luck! they wont make it through the next round though!

Once he took the dive, it was easy to sell it and turn it into a foul by the Italians. Stupid for goin to the ground in the box by the Aussie.

Wow, I could really care less. I tried to care, I really did. I even watched a game that the USA wasn't playing in. Then I saw some team celebrate a group match win like it was game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and I turned it off. Soccer is gay.

I love the non-stop action and no-commercial aspect.

I do think that PK's should be moved back a little. The goalie has virtually no chance besides the kicker fucking up or by guessing the correct direction in which to dive. That sucks. It's like an automatic goal.

Good call, but its the phsycalolgy of the penalty situation. 60,000 fans all eyes on you, make or break situation. Would be good to move it back, but it would go on for ever. Pressure is ENORMOUS. I remember a Liverpool keeper in a Cup final tie floppng about before the kick was taken, like some drunken clown on valium, the kicker was so unnerved, he skyed it. Class. Its all about keeping cool. In a college game i played in - semi final penalty shot out, I had the last kick and am usually good at them, going for the psycological faint - put the keeper the wrong way. pressure got to me and i blasted it.........way over. Noooo.... team mates were not happy....

You got to love the drama, especially if its your team...

Got to say the Aussies were unlucky. If the Ukraine go through though, they might just knock the italians out...

Andrej Shevchenko.... need you say more. Possibly the best striker in the world.

Still, I think the Argies will blaze a trail through despite a diff result against Mexico. The European style wont be able to compete with their skillful style.

That whole game sucked! I just want the Ukrains to beat the Italians. then get beat out by germany who will beat out Argetina. then England will slam Germany in the Final. Probably wont happen, but I will be happy when England takes the cup!

Can't see England getting the cup, with their squad they should have a chance but don't play much as a team. Bunch of pretty boy posers anyway, the Agries far out class them in terms of skill, but England do seem to have an awful lot of luck and seem to be blessed sometimes, (what happens when you sell your soul to Satan) albiet not at penalties. The swiss ukraine game was terrible, no desire to win, just defend defend and hope for the counter attack. Spain v France looks like a good line up......

Ghana is hella fun to watch. They hustle their balls off and have been pressuring Brazil the whole first half. I hope they tie this up.

2-0 Brazil agree the speed and excitement of Ghana is what is needed in soccer.

    Should have been an offside.

Aint looking great for ghana, but you got to love their spirit and skill. It would be amazing if they hit 3 injury time goals to knock brazil out....and follow it up by taking the cup.... A worse Greece team won it in Euro 2004 so anythings posible.

As for England, The alien - "mars attacks" sven is a shit coach and the argies outclass them in pretty much all departments. I mean Roonys class, but hes second fiddle to the genius of Messi, Tevez et all..... I'll be really surprised if they make the final unless they get thier shit together fast. Remeber Portugal outplayed them in Euro 2004 quarters to win 3-2...

portugal have lost 3 or 4 of their starters so it should be an easy win for them. also, England should be able to pull the team together, and their gonna need to to face germany or argentina.

Ghana is fucked, that second goal was offside, but ghanna need to score one to make an argument about it.

I agree the Aussies were cheated. PK inthe last 20 seconds of the game was a gift to the Italians. now we have to sit through another bore of a game by the Italians!!
