Matt Hughes vs. Georges St. Pierre

Who's gonna win this time? Hughes is as good as ever, and GSP has improved and beaten some good fighters since the last fight....

There was actually a little interview on espn.com that prompted me to make this poll. Never seen UFC coverage on espn. Just goes to show you how far the sport has come and its increasing popularity. I think this fight will be on UFC 63.

Unless he gets caught doing something stupid like last time, I don't see GSP losing. He was winning the last fight until Hughes caught him in an arm bar. GSP is a bad bitch and IMO can beat anyone in the world in his weight class. GSP for the win.

If it goes to a decision Hughes wins. The champ wins the decision most of the time.

I still haven't voted. This will be a great fight. Imagine if this was on the same card as Silva - Liddell?

Both are the best of the best... This weight class is the UFC's prime fighters. The best of the best... These two are it. Pierre was owning Hughes the first time until he slipped up and got caught in an armbar. As strong as Hughes was Pierre had his way with him. I think Hughes has improved a hell of a lot since and I haven't seen Pierre fight since. With that said, I'm going with Pierre...

Its going to be super hard for Pierre to win by decision because to be the champ (and get the judges vote) you simply have to beat him down.

GSP didnt slip up and lose, he has very little ground defense and doesnt seem too cozy on his back, Matt Hughes jsut did an excellent job of capitalizing

I think GSP will have really trumped up his takedown defense, but I think if he goes down once he'll go down alot... and if he goes down Hughes wins by KO or decision

You guys are going to lose. You might as well just cheer for me, because Boston isn’t winning in Boston for the season opener. I’m sorry. " - Gilbert Arenas

Been done to many times whether the champ wins or not......whenever it goes to decision more times than not the champ gets the nod.

Well I look at it this way, BJ Penn looked good against Hughes and beat him. BJ Penn looked good against GSP and lost. GSP looked good against Hughes until he left an arm out there for Hughes to grab. I don't see GSP doing that again. GSP for the win.

Good points. BUT...Hughes, as with any top-level athlete, is tons better than he was when he fought Penn. He is a completely different fighter now than he was even 2 years ago. I guess we'll just have to watch and see.
That's the cool thing about the UFC...one mistake and you're done. Anything can happen.

No but I wanna go rent it now. All I remember is him hating Rashad Evans for showboating, and seeing him and Rich Franklin being buddy buddy backstage at UFC 61.

Couldn't have been that much of an asshole if even the other coach likes him... deff no Ken Shamrock

Rich Franklin trains with Matt Hughes and Tim Silvia.
With 3 World Champions in one camp, they must be doing something right.

Like Tim Sylvia says time and time again, what else is there to do in Iowa but train?

Staring at the corn is the only other option. I pick training.

I stare at the corn all the time where I live. I wonder how many bodies I can hide in there! And then I train. GSP for the win, but unbelieavable match.

Aha I was thinking the same thing except the other way around. I'd say Matt by a triangle or a arm bar.
