I don't follow any sports besides pro tennis, even there I don't get too in depth.

    BTW, I'm not from NE!

New England is all about pro sports (i live near the Boston area). We're hardcore about the Patriots and Redsox along with the Bruins and Celtics when they are doing well. We don't really care for college sports. The hardcore college fans are usually all in the south and midwest as well as some north. The only good team we have is BC but they arn't as good as the big guys.

Every state and region in the U.S. has its own likes and dislikes. The New England area is more geared toward pro sports because of the rich history of the great teams and games that we witnessed while growing up.

You guys seem to care more about your baseball team then anything. I saw more Boston Red Sox logo's in Florida then I did Patriots for the Super Bowl. I think they came up with 85% Philadelphia fans and 15% Patriot fans there. Would have been more Eagles fans if those 2 planes full of fans didn't get held back for partying to hard on the plane.

Yes, true, but the fanbase for the Patriots rapidly grew over the last few years because of the 3 superbowl wins. The redsox have been around since the early 1900's and we're so hardcore about them because we were so anxiously awaiting a championship after suffering through the "curse" for 86 years. Also, the redsox-yankees rivalry is one of the reasons for our passion for the sport.

Fathers, great-grandfathers and beyond is the reason why the fans love the redsox. It's basically a tradition that passes on to each generation. I love the redsox and patriots because my parents are hardcore about them and it's just the way i was brought up. I can tell you that my kids will be the same way if i have a family some day.

The reason there are so many redsox fans down in the south is because a lot of people retire and move down there. Also, the marlins, devil rays and so forth are terrible and they're not as entertaining.

Way for them to jump on the band wagon. I just don't think their fans are as dedicated as most major city's or state's fans. For Football that is.

Eh, i wouldn't exactly say it like that. Fans have great passion for the patriots even before the superbowl wins. Especially the hardcore football fans like myself. It's more like we're not as crazy as Boston because the redsox is more geared for New England. The patriots play in my hometown (foxboro) which is very small and we're at the stage where it's just rapidly growing. It was not as big during the 70's-90's.

But i will agree that some fans have jumped on the bandwagon. It happens in all sports for all teams.

Hopefully the Boilers get off the bus this year. Granted, could be some lumps coming again. Hey, I was there at ND two years ago when Purdue whipped up on the Irish on their turf. At least it's more competitive now.
