On a whim I just picked up Michael Robinson. He looks pretty good and if Frank Gore fumbles a few more times I've got myself a cheap premier running back!

I picked him up as well, Gore's got a strained abdominal muscle. On Yahoo they're listing Michael Robinson as WR/RB... if plays, he be huge points for a wideout!

What's funny is in my league, Robinson was bid on for 30 bucks the first night we could bid on free agents. The guys don't mess around, everyone knows whats going on at all times.

Just to let you guys know, Robinson aint gonna do shit. Gore is gonna be the starter. He may miss a few goal line carries but oh well, Gore has been breaking 25 yard runs for TD's. He'll be ok to miss a few carries.

Too bad Gore is 1/2 the reciever out of the backfield that Robinson is. They will be at least 50/50 in the next comming weeks.

Last few reports for Gore on Yahoo, looks like he gonna play...

    News and Notes

Sep 27 Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (ribs) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 27 and is questionable for Week 4. Head coach Mike Nolan expects Gore to play.

Sep 26 While Gore is expected to return to action this week despite leaving Sunday's loss to Philadelphia with a strained muscle in his abdomen, his propensity for fumbling may cost him goal-line carries to Michael Robinson, the San Jose Mercury News reports. "That's something we're discussing right now,'' coach Mike Nolan said. ``It's something that could possibly happen.''

Recommendation: "In the field of play, Frank is a very secure ball carrier -- at least he has been," Nolan said. "Down on the goal line both times, he was hit and turned around and they punched the ball out. That's correctable, but it also lends its way to giving another back an opportunity on the goal line and in short yardage to carry that ball." Robinson scored on a pair of one-yard runs after Gore left the Eagles' game with the injury, and at 6-foot-1, 218 pounds is much bigger than Gore, who is 5-foot-9, 212 pounds. If Gore, whose X-rays showed bruised ribs, does lose goal-line carries, his fantasy value takes a big hit.

Sep 25 Gore left San Francisco's game on Sunday with a strained abdomen, but he is expected to return this week. The 49ers' running back suffered the injury trying to stretch the ball over the goal line as he went for a touchdown. Instead, he fumbled the ball and it was returned 98 yards for a touchdown by Philadelphia's Mike Patterson.

Advice: After two big weeks to open the season, Gore _ a second-year running back _ had a tough day against the Eagles, gaining only 52 yards on 16 carries, with that crucial fumble, the second straight week he fumbled inside the 5-yard line. Rookie Michael Robinson replaced Gore and scored two 1-yard touchdowns and could become the team's short-yardage back, according to Nolan.

You are crazy. Gore looks great as a receiver out of the backfield. As long as Gore stays healthy he will remain the starter and get 90% of the carries. The only reason they are making any sort of issue about this is because of the fumbles, which is also something that is very easy to correct. You will see, all these people that picked up Robinson are going to be very dissapointed. Just like all the people who were very high on Duckett because supposedly he was going to get all these goal line and short yardage plays. Give it 2 weeks and Robinson will be dropped again. Unless Gore gets seriously hurt and misses time, Robinson will be a non factor.

Hey Double, go with Culpepper and Jordan. Look for Culpepper to throw 2 td's against a poor Houston D and Jordan is going up agains a poor Cleveland D. The only problem I see with Jordan is Oaklands D looks awefull and Cleveland might rack up quite a few points on them, which will lead Oakland to pass more.

Yahoo made a stat correction and added 2 points to Carolina D/ST for a fumble recovery... I won by 2 points.

There were a few good reasons Penn State was 11-1 last year and the main reason was the talent of one Michael Robinson. As I recall Gore couldn't stay healthy or hold on to the ball long enough to make that sort of an impact at "The U." I look for much of the same out of him as a pro and have no doubt that Robinson will be a "do all" back in the pros.

That's true, but I believe Elway's father was a scout for the colts and felt he was wronged by them. Archie was pissed because the Charges were in a toss up or Rivers or Manning, and Archie felt Eli should be #1 hands down. Or do I have that wrong?

I thought of this thread when I seen that.

I still think Gore will continue to be the niners starter througout the season. He does need to really work on holding onto the ball though.

I love how I bench Brian Westbrook last week (he was questionable) and he has the game of his life. Now this week I'm down 3 points and start him (again questionable) and they announce he's out an hour before the game. Ahhhh gotta love that.

Yeah, I was playing a guy who had Reggie Brown, L.J Smith and the Eagles D. Where the hell did Greg Lewis come from?
I think its time to trade Culpepper. I have Eli and Grossman so I covered on QB's.

Yeah, get what you can for Culpepper. Greg Lewis now has 3 career TD catches. Don't get crazy.

I think its time to trade Culpepper. I have Eli and Grossman so I covered on QB's.
Yup and Culpepper's got the Pat's D next week in New England.

Yeah, I made a trade for D. Carr because my starter Leftwich is gonna be on his bye soon (and Carr is quietly having a real good season). So I figure what the hell, Carr against Miami's D will probably do better then Leftwich against Wash. Son of a bitch, if I would of started Leftwich I would of won by 1 point.
