Red Sox set to sign JD Drew?

Just heard on the radio that a Philly newspaper is reporting the Red Sox are about to sign JD Drew to a 4 year, $48 million deal. The Sox need a right fielder since Trot Nixon was not resigned.

    Damn, yo. Go Sox!

overpaid for RF. Atleast he's a good notch above Manny's speed. Manny likes to stop and see what the ball eats before fielding it.

Manny certainly has his gaffes in left field, but overall he is a very underrated fielder. He's got a strong accurate arm and gets to more fly balls than you realize. He's been among the leaders the last few seasons in left field assists.

True, but everytime one sneaks down the line I feel like I'm about to witness an inside the park home run.

He's a Gold Glove caliber fielder with a cannon for an arm.

Good. Check the Matsuzaka thread(sp?). I'm a long-time Red Sox bandwagoner, not gonna lie, no family ties or anything. I jsut really hate yankees and my nats cant win. But before the Nats were born, the Sox were my one and only.

Of course he leads in assists, that because everyone runs on him expecting to get a extra base while he takes out that water bottle from his pocket and drink from it and then hit the cutoff man.

Well the Redskins are a good franchise even though that new owner is wacky...... The Katia7 thread shows that you have some style.

I under stand your frustration here. The Sox are set to add JD Drew and Daisuke Matsuzaka while the Yankees have lost Gary Sheffield and Jaret Wright. But please, don't take your anger out on Manny, especially since he'll be on the Yankees eventually.

Well I'm pretty sure baseball is the only thing we differ on. Immigration and other sports are fine, but seriously, Yankees

How can you hate the Derek Jeters, the Joe Torres, the Lawrence Taylors, the David Writes?

The Yankees had a lot of homegrown players during that championship run, and the Red sox world series team were pretty much not all homegrown.

He had his best year last year and it wasnt that great. He was suppose to be some fantastic player and he hasnt even did anything, but sit on the bench crying about an injury. I dont care where he goes, just as long as the Cards dont get him back!

I was going to ask you about him, since he played at St. Louis.

Why did he leave St. Louis?
