    then why doesn't the league just go back to the old balls?

    That, and when it gets wet it gets really slippery. Shaq called it "one of those balls you buy your kids at the store, an indoor-outdoor ball". Many, many, many players have spoken out against it. Let's not forget that besides them using it their whole pro career, they used the leather one the 20 years before hand when they were learning or in college or HS. Shouldnt have changed it.

    I prefer the leather ball over the fake one, when sweat gets on the leather ball you actually get a better grip whereas the fake ball becomes very slippery.
