Lugo is an upgrade offensively over Alex Gonzalez, but he is much more inferior defensively. He's got a lot of speed though, and having him and Coco Crisp at the top of the lineup gives the Sox a lot of speed. I think it was a good pickup, but no way is he worth $9 million per year.
JD Drew will be good in the #5 slot behind Manny...if they keep Manny. As with Lugo, the Sox seriously overpaid for JD Drew. They give Drew $70 million for five years but would not give Johnny Damon $50 for five? Makes no sense to me.
Trading Manny will be a big mistake IMO.
The Sox need to sign that Japanese dude already.

Manny is going nowhere. For them to move Manny someone will have to spend alot of money and most of the possible teams have already spent a load, so for atleast this year Manny goes no where, or atleast during the offseason.
