He said the word "practice" in that clip more than he actually has practiced his whole career. What a waste of talent.

AI is a good guy, get off his back b/c he looks conceited on the court. He's given millions over his tenure to local charities and is known as a community player. If you poll the NBA for the hardest playing player I guarantee he'd be in the top 5. He can coem off as selfish on the court b/c he has no team, and off the court b/c he is the only correct player ever to say that he is the team.

He had that one stint of domestic abuse that he immediately apologized for, and came out publicly against abuses and explained what happened. Even Jason Kidd has had a domestic charge.

Don't hate him b/c he's tatted up and passionate. I wouldn't want him on the Wizards b/c we don't need a PG, but I have the utmost respect for the guy.

That's the appeal Jordan had, he was very well spoken.

Don't get me wrong, I also butcher the english langauge with my New Yawk accent, but I am not in TV.

With all that money he has he could take speech classes.

Speak smart in public and just speak your langauge among your people.

If you ever heard Patrick Ewing talk to his buddies in private you'll notice he will have a thick Jamaican accent, in front of the cameras it disappears.

I can't believe he came out from there...

Knowledge of correct speech doesnt necessarily mean you should change it. The way you speak is as much a part of you and your culture than anything else.

    Hmmm....I disagree.
I tell the young kids on my block to learn how to speak properly, leave that ghetto shit on our block.

I tell them if a Police offficer where to stop you or pull you over you talk to them properly.
Not like "Yo, wassup po po."

I agree with the police speech, but his grammar as a whole was better than the majority of the rest of the NBA. It's been a couple days since I saw it, did he even curse? It's not ghetto speak anymore like it was considered 20 years ago, now it should be considered an entirely different accent. African American city speak should be considered no differently than a southern drawl or a Canadian oot and aboot.

To the adult, white community. The way he spoke there had no ill effect on how I perceived him, I'm glad he was himself and not the "default answer" player you see in most interviews.

So to sound like an educated person is a white adult perception, and to sound like a retard is acceptable?

He is lucky to be making the money he does playing a game. If he didn't have that, he would be gangbanging in the streets. He is a fuckchop.

I think all great point guards should make everyone around them better, and I don't see that out of him. I think he'd be much more valuable to a team as a 2 guard. I'll take Davis, Nash, Kidd, Paul, Arenas or Billups over him anyday. I consider him a good player too, just not the elite player he thinks he is. And, defintely not worth the headache.

Funny how you can judge him jsut because of the way he speaks as a gangbanger w/o basketball, and speaking like a retard. Glad to see all the racial tolerance up there in the 51st state.

He sounded intelligent to me, slang and an urban accent don't affect my perception of someone else's intelligence. From all the pre/post game interviews and press conf I've seen him in, I know he's an intelligent and educated man, even though he may not want to speak like you want him to.

Yea, he's a 2 that still has one hand on the reigns. I agree that great PG's amke their team better, but there's only so much he can do. Remember the finals run a few years back? Who was there second leading scorer, w/o googling it? He was the team b/c everyone else was a true scrub. He had no Pippen, no Shaq, no Ric Hamilton.

Iverson: I study all these years at Georgetown University and we in here talkin' bout a drink. I drink. Man, that is funny......we ain't talkin' bout the case....we talkin' bout a drink...not the case....not the case....i go out there and practice law everyday....you see me practice law don't you?.....but we in here talkin' bout a drink.

Reporter: Don't you think you could make a better life for your family if you didn't drink?

Iverson: Man, how the hell can I make a better life for my family by me not drinkin'?
