Sanchez was a total dork ... but he did get a few shots in. Chuck's shit is very precise so Chuck in that same match throwing punches at that same defense woulda ended Cro Cop.
I completely agree, I think the fight would be very close. If I were to pick a winner it would definitely be Cro-cop, but it would be an all out war.

    Sorry, but I disagree.

You guys seem to disregarding Cro Cop's puniching.... which is also superior to Chuck's. I'd give Chuck 1 out of 10 at heavyweight and 3 of ten at LHW.

And I don't know about the counter-punching off those kicks. He's not wreckless or off balance and even when blocked they stop you in your tracks. The last good striker Liddell has faced was Rampage and we know how that turned out.

Only if you're at range. If someone steps inside you on a high or mid kick you're open as hell and your kicks have no major impact.

Vitor was a top shelf striker and we know how that turned as well. Chuck will bang with a striker ... Cro Cop is a stalker. I still say this would be a fairly even match that I really really wanna see ...

I'm not disregarding anything. Chuck has a great chin and KO power from awkward angles, something Cro-cop would have a hard time with considering he doesn't mind eating a few shots to give a few. As awkward as Chuck can look at times, he's not a guy you want to get into a counter war with. It would be a great fight.

He beat him convincingly, it went to decision. IMO, Vitor hasn't been a good fighter since he lost to Sakuraba and Couture.

But, we're looking way ahead. This fight won't happen until both have beaten all challengers in the divisions. And you never know.

Thats what I just began thinking throughout these pages. Its almost like an Ali vs. Tyson debate. Id rather wait to see how he does in the HW area.

I'm with you on that one. It sux that we may never know because of the weight class dif. It would be a top shelf UFC fight.

The Rampage/Chuck brawl will be outstanding.

The UFC is looking way better this year at this time then it was same last time year. We had the Ken Shamrock, Gracie, and Tito fights ahead of us ... of which the only really good fight to look forward was the Tito fight. Now we have Rampage, Cro Cop ... AND the WFA stable that includes my favorite all around fighter Bas Rutten. Bas fought a guy by the name of Ruben Villareal AKA Warpath (a total can) on 7/22/06 and won from leg kicks. Knocked the big Indian's legs right out from under him. He was supposed to fight Kimo but Kimo again got busted for 'roids. Bas Rutten interview.

The international expansion plans for TUF that Dana White has talked about should bring in more fighters like Diego Sanchez. Diego was going nowhere 'till TUF brought him up. Now he's the shit ... and more like him are just waiting for a chance. It's hard to fight and pay the bills ... with a program like TUF that changes. With an international TUF program we'll see some unknowns come outta nowhere with no English skills throw guys like Matt Hughes a serious beating. I was kinda skeptical about Dana's ethics ... and I still am. I don't like that the WFA was bought out by the UFC ... it reduced the amount of opportunities for fighters outside of Dana's grip to work their way up the ranks AND it cuts down on the amount of good fights I can download. That being said though Dana White does have huge dreams for UFC and that works for me ...

During that interview, he did say something that I too thought would invoke more boos.

    "youre two minutes are up!"

I can see a lot of people hating him though.

Wow those salaries are interesting indeed. Whats a guy like Hughes or Lidell fetch for a fight these days.
