Pippen, 41, wants to make NBA comeback

Ex-Bulls great says ‘I have the skills’ to help a team make playoff run

    Updated: 2:51 a.m. ET Feb 17, 2007

LAS VEGAS - Scottie Pippen is tired of retirement. He wants to return to the NBA for a chance to win his seventh championship ring.

With most of the league’s stars and decision-makers gathering at the All-Star weekend festivities in Las Vegas, the 41-year-old Pippen announced he’s hoping for a late-season return to a contending team — preferably in a warm-weather city — nearly 2½ years after he left the league.

“I know that I have the skills,” Pippen said. “I think it’s sort of been on my mind the last couple of months. It’s just about me going out and polishing my skills.”

    Horrible idea.

He should just settle for Pros vs. Joes and be happy.

It beats getting fat. I don't think it's a huge ego thing, the guy just wants to still see if he's got it. If he doesn't last big deal at least he tried.

I'm really surprised that he still wants to play in the league. I'm all for supporting him and everything, but you have to wonder how long he can really last.......as you get older it's much easier for you to re-injure your self.

Not to mention, he couldn't play anymore a few years back, that's why he retired in the first place. What makes him think a few years removed from the league would be a good thing?

Ok, that is just ridiculous. Can you put a little more effort into typing a post? I am not trying to be a dick, but come on.

He should try to play for Miami, winter with the Heat, summers in Del Boca Vista.

Living in the shadow of Jordan for years, he probably has nightmares about it and wants to come back and prove he can do better...

You know his return will be nothing like Jordans first return...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
