Good old Cards
Well.....not looking so good after the series against the Mets. And sportcenter is wanting to crucify them already! 3 freakin games and all of a sudden they are writting them off?! Come on I have faith in my team. Last year I think they got swept by the Brewers and I know whenever I was in college they got swept by the Brew crew and we still won 100 games. Cards are still the Cards and they talk about the NL Central being weak, well lets remember this they won 100 games for 2 years in a row prior to last year. And they had one of the best records in baseball for the first half of last year, but sucked down the stretch until it meant something. So lets not be so quick to say, Oh shit they are shitty! Because we shall save that statement for the Cubbies!!!

Somehow things get magnified at the start of the season. If the sweep had occurred sometime in mid-June, it would have been brushed off as a mini-slump. Long way to go DD.

They sucked last night as well. They showed very good signs of offense, but in the end it was a loss.

Could Puljos be hitting any worse? For shit sakes! He had an oppurtunity last night to win the game and untypical Puljos fashion he didnt! I was there 15 rows from him and couldnt have been more dissapointed. All I can say, is thank god they play in a weak ass division!

Haha, I dont even know how they are doing this year! Pretty bad, last year I could tell ya exactly where everyone was in each division and what winning or losing streak they were on. Now I have been very busy and no time to keep track.

I'll tell ya how they are doing. The same they have been for the past, oh fuck my whole life. They make a few off-season moves, look good on paper, fall 10 games back before the break, make a late season run only to fall a game short because their big money player chokes when they need him. Then they deal him in the off-season only to see him succeed elsewhere.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
That being said, I like them to beat the Chi-Sox 4-2 in the WS.

I kinda saw it coming a mile away. I guess they thought deal him before he loses value completely. Unfortunately for the Phillies, he got his swing back too, and is the producer he was supposed to be in Philly.
Now I'm waiting for Pat Burrell to come back around.

I think hes had 2 good games. Its not Albert like. hes expanding his zone. Hes swinging at balls. Hes not a bad ball hitter like the likes of Vlad. He needs to take more pitches, maybe get ahead in the count and wait for something to drive. He hit the ball well in the first today, but the guy made a good play on it. And as everyone knows whenever things are going well, then he gets a hit there and whenever things are bad they are horrible.

I remember when the Jays beat the Phillies in the World Series in '93. Walk off Homerun in Game 6 Back to Back world Series. Be nice to see the Jays get back to that level. They have done a good job making an attempt to improve.

They are hitting a dismal .229 as a team!
Albert is hitting 197 and Rolen is hitting 196! These are their 3 and 4 hitters! Your not going to win to many games with this nonsense! however they are only like 2 out. But hey they play in a weak ass division. I just keep thinking 2 and 3 years ago they won 100 games! What went wrong?

Well Cubs got 2 out of 3 from the Cubs.
Rolen today was 5 for 6! That ought to get the average over 200! Puljos hit the game winning homerun! But Wainright pitched like a wiener! Still some work to do, but atleast they scored some damn runs!

Rolen is still hitting, but the pitching has been suspect.
Larussa says hes not worried.
Hell with him, I AM!

Cardinals have won their last 2 series. They have a chance to win another today against the Padres. Edmonds looked really good last night and Albert is looking better as well. We need to get Rolen and Eckstein going and we will be just fine. Oh and Braden Looper looks really good at this point. He was number 10 in ERA before last nights game and he threw a 7 inning shutout. We get Mulder back in a little over a month. We will be ok.
