leben, salmon? yuck
Rampage is the Man
Rampage sure is not mohammad ali.
Chuck should be alot easier to fight then this guy
rampage got beatdown hard
I wonder how rampages stomach looked the next day? Those knees had to leave a few marks. brutal body shots

Din Thomas sure looks like Eric Schafer.
The card looks pretty decent. I am routing for Rampage, but I am no longer making predictions. I jinx my attitude and I honestly lose spirit when I am constantly let down. I know it goes with the game, but if this was a gambling game (which it can be), then Id be losing non stop.
It really is time for an upset. There already have been, but a lot more people doubt Rampage than Serra and Gonzaga. ..Maybe not Gonzaga, but you see my point. I find it a bit odd to doubt someone's fighting ability even though theyve beaten the person in the past.
I knwo what Ill hear too..."Chuck has improved; Chuck is at the top of his game, etc" I wont disagree either. However, Crop Cop was on the top of his game and looky looky what happened there. Cro Cop got hit with a lucky, yet controlled blow. I wouldnt say he got his ass handed to him. However, i would say Rampage handed Chuck his ass in Pride.
Then again, who the fuck knows. Rampage didnt look good in his last fight. I also dont know how serious hes taking this. I hope he is. However, even if he does prepare, anything can happen.
Exciting and Depressing at the same time.

Morgan said so too, but Cro Cop didnt really do anything. Plus, hes been in worse situations and came out on top. I really dont know what he was thinking, but before that kick, I didnt think he was getting his ass kicked physically, but as far as points went, yep.

He kinda did. Gonzaga was mashing on him on the ground, cutting him pretty good at one point. God only knows why that fight got stood up. Had it not been stood up, if Crop Cop made it to the bell...who knows maybe in the second round it would have been Cro Cop winning via KO![]()

Despite the blows he took, I never once thought hed lose. I really didnt predict what would happen. Which is sort of the point...
No one really thought Crop Cop was going to lose, but he did. Before Cro was knocked out, the beating Cro took, didnt look like the beating Chuck took from Quinton, yet theres more doubt.

That's true. You also have to remember, that was Chuck's last loss and it was 4 years ago. That's why people have learned to just assume Chuck will do the business to who ever steps in front of him. This will be different than his recent challenges though. Rampage will give him a run for his money.
Randy Couture beat Chuck in 1 of their 3 fight series. Chuck is not on a four year winning streak.
Chuck has a loss to avenge vs a bad ass Rampage so no ... he's not taking this fight lightly. It took something like 18 knees to the head within a 2 minute period for Silva to KO Rampage so Chuck's not gonna just toss that awkward straight/hook right of his and do the job. This will be a case of Chuck fighting a very strategic game or losing his belt by ref stoppage.

One thing I have to take away from Rampage is that he didnt look that fired up for Eastman as he did with Chuck. Then again, it says on Sherdog Eastman is more of a wrestler, so maybe Rampage played the smart game.
On the flip side, Chuck looked more fired up in the fight with Rampage..... the most fired up Ive seen actually.
It looks one sided, if anything. Then again, anything can happen. Fuck I hate this sometimes.

anyway i cant wait for the fight. my 2 fav fighters going at it.![]()

The guy getting choked or the guy choking the other guy?![]()

Q1.) Yes mouth guards are required. If it comes out the ref will wait for a lull in the action and stop the fight so the mouth guard can be cleaned and replaced. Some fighters will cheat and spit it out on purpose so they can get a break.
Q2.) From the front it's known as a Muay Thai clinch ... and if you try to throw combos at the head while you are in one you will get your guts kneed so bad you will piss blood for a week. Another front neck grab is called the guillotine. From the rear it's called a rear naked choke but if you're in either one head shots to your opponent aren't really an option ... especially if he gets the scissor lock around your waist with his legs or double hooks in with his legs to trap your legs.
Kampmann is off of the card for 72. Was supposed to fight Franklin.

Rich Franklin: I’m Fighting Yushin Okami at UFC 72
Posted by UFC Junkie on May 8, 2007 at 10:31 am ET
With Martin Kampmann (15-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) off the UFC 72 card because of a knee injury, former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (21-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) has confirmed that he’ll instead fight Yushin Okami (20-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC) in the main-event bout.
Franklin made the announcement at his official site, richfranklin.com, this morning.
UFC 72 takes place June 16 at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Ireland. The event airs on Spike TV.
According to richfranklin.com:
I spoke with Monte (my manager) Saturday evening and that conversation eluded to the fact that Kampman may be out. Monday,I was told he would be replaced with a top 10 opponent, and Okami was presented as the likely possibility. Later that day we found out Okami signed. From my end, the contract remains the same, and I’m still excited to fight June 16th in Belfast. My camp will make some changes in my training as well as develop a new strategy to approach this fight. However, I was and will continue preparing a fight…not a person.UFCjunkie.com (UFCjunkie.com - UFC blog for MMA news, rumors, gossip, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps) mentioned Okami as a likely opponent yesterday.
Okami is perhaps one of the UFC’s most underrated and accomplished fighters. The MMA veteran owns a 20-3 MMA record (and an undefeated 4-0 mark in the Octagon) and has been stopped just once since he began competing professionally in 2002. A split-decision loss and a majority-decision loss are the only other blemishes on an otherwise perfect record.
The Japanese fighter defeated Mike Swick via unanimous decision at last month’s UFC 69 event. He has previous UFC victories over Alan Belcher, Kalib Starnes and Rory Singer.
After just a two-month layoff, he’ll face Franklin, who scored a TKO victory over Jason MacDonald at UFC 68 in March. It was his first stop on the comeback trail since losing his title to Anderson Silva this past October.
Prior to the loss, Franklin had won eight consecutive fights, which included two successful title defenses over Nate Quarry (UFC 56) and David Loiseau (UFC 58).
