Only 21 guys have done it. Pretty impressive feat. Figure a guy plays 15 years he has to hit in excess of 33 HR's a year.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

That was the basic question I posed. I thought Fred was in the 500+....but so close, but nope hes not. So many guys now will hit 500 easily. I think about McGriff's time and back to the past years they should get in for those numbers. But now adays I think 500 isnt anything.

So it poses the question: Is it the athletes in general? Are they that much better? Or is the pitching that bad? Are they all juiced up?

Yeah Iain, but there are alot of the guys who have been doing it in the recent decade or 2. In years to come I am sure its only going to increase!

Probably. But that needs to be evaluated on a generation per generation basis.

There are more players that started there career in the 50's in the 500 club then today's generation. Should we have changed the standard then? Why was there such an increase in homeruns around that era?

Chuck Norris once lost his keys and couldn't remember where he put them. So he tortured himself for half an hour until he gave up their location.
