Never liked Tito. He's an over-rated fighter making a living off of what he was able to do back in the 90's.

    Rashad's chin > Toti's chin
    Rashad's power > Toti's power

    Main card

    Middleweight championship bout:
    Anderson Silva vs. Nathan Marquardt[1]

    Lightweight championship bout:
    Sean Sherk vs. Hermes Franca[1]

    Light heavyweight bout:
    Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans[1]

    Heavyweight bout:
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Heath Herring[1]

    Lightweight bout:
    Kenny Florian vs. Alvin Robinson[1]

    Preliminary card

    Lightweight bout:
    Jorge Gurgel vs. Diego Saraiva[1]

    Light heavyweight bout:
    Stephan Bonnar vs. Mike Nickels[1]

    Welterweight bout:
    Chris Lytle vs. Jason Gilliam[1]

    Lightweight bout:
    Frankie Edgar vs. Mark Bocek[1]

Doing his Don Imus imitation (better than he imitates
an MMA fighter), Tito actually called Rashad Evans
    "My nappy headed ho" ...

    My picks are:
    Sherk
    Evans
    Silva
    Nog
    Robinson

I wanna see Bonnar return to the majors so I put him on the wish list.

Did anyone catch the weigh-ins? Nog was looking a bit chunky and Rashad just looked small...

I can't wait for Evans to knock Tito's big head off.

I will be watching this one, it is a great card. In fact, the next two UFC events following this one look awesome too. This is a great summer for MMA.

Fufucious says the UFC PPV looks good for a few ...

All these fights we've all wanted to see are coming around the corner. Liddell vs Silva anyone?

It was a good UFC, alittle disapointed all the Mile High boys got beat. I thought Marquardt would win. I wanted to see the lytle fight, that sub looked sick.

    I thought they were too...

I missed the god damn Minotaur fight, but people said he fought badly.

The Sherk fight...well I havent seen him do much, but my friend was telling me all about him. He said that he likes him, but he doesnt root for him cuz he doesnt follow up with stuff. After watchign that fight, I can see where he was coming from. He slammed that guy repeatedly, but once they were on the ground, he didnt do anythign else that was impressive. He had so much energy and it looked like he was going to do something that a champion would do, but....it was all just a tease. Hes got a good chin though...

The Tito fight was better than I thought it would be. Kinda boring though. Tito looks dated now.

Silva fight was pretty good, but was this the fight that ended prematurely? Eh, well I dont know. He looked fine and he had just a couple of more seconds, but when they broke it up, the asshole was still laying on the ground, so I guess he got fucked up.

Florian's fight might have been the best one. However, he clearly fought a pussy. I cant believe he tapped out that early.

I thought it was a great night of fights! Little disappointed in Rashad being so tentative, but everything else played out exactly as I thought.

NOG WAS FUCKING OUT!!! WTF!?!?!? That looked fixed to me!! Seriously!! What in the fuck was Herring thinking!?!? Even Nog said he was hurt "very badly." I don't think he's ever been hurt like that, ever. He was out on his feet for a few minutes, very disappointing how shitty Nog looked.

    Otherwise I was pretty stoked.

Shirk took some serious knees to the noggin and just kept plowing through Franco.

Tito beat Rashad AND himself all in one night. He made Rashad look like a midget. I thought Rashad was taller than that ...

All in all it was a good sign of what's to come for us in MMA this year. *sigh

Next card is even better IMHO.

Sherk is an animal, absolutely destroyed Franca. Rumor has it he'll fight BJ in November which I can't see it going much differently really. As much as I like BJ, I think Sherk will hold him down for 25 minutes and pray not to get caught in a sub. Sherk via Decision.

Marquardt was out. No premature stoppage in my book. Took him some time to get up, he was done. Silva most likely gets Franklin in a few months. Silva via TKO.

I don't know what they'll have lined up for Big Nog, he looked like shit and his legendary chin failed him last night. I can't see them giving him a title shot after that performance. Maybe Arlovski next?

I think it was 29-28 on all cards which was right. Herring won the first round, Nog the next 2. I just can't believe Herring didn't pounce. Nog was done.

I wouldnt say he absolutely destroyed him. After all the slams, Franca still managed to throw knees that connected. I was a little disappointed when Sherk was basically out and Franca didnt follow up. I think it was the 2nd knee?

Again, I havent seen more than 2 fights with Sherk, but Morgan seemed to describe it on the button before last night's fight started. Lots of lay and pray stuff going on.

Its hard to describe him. He fights real hungry and looks the part of a champ, but something was missing. Speed? Combos? I dont know.

I'd say he destroyed him. That's Sherk's game, that's what he does. Slams the shit out of you, holds your down and slowly drains your will to fight. He executed perfectly. Franca realized he couldn't beat him in the 3rd round and you could see it on his face. I think those 3 knees were the only 3 strikes Franca landed all night and the one in the second round was the only way he won the that round on 1 judges scorecards. Franca tried to follow up but Sherk just held on and took him down again. It's not the most pleasing style to watch for the casual UFC fan, but he's perfected it.

That maybe why I was mildly amused. He loosk so fired up all the time, plus being huge at that height, I guess it just makes someone like me expect something that proves why hes the champ. I cant see someone getting destroyed if they win by decision.

Morgan thinks Din might be fast enough to avoid most takedowns. Honestly, I dont know.

Ya know, I went to take a piss during the Tito/Evans decision and when I came back, the people at my section said Evans won. I didnt know it was a draw until I went to the UFC site.

Not a chance. It would be the same fight.

You're right about it not looking like a draw. Rashad did nothing until the end of the 3rd round. Tito should have won and had it not been for the point deduction, he would have. That being said, I think Rashad realized at the end of the 3rd round that he could have probably finished Tito had he been more aggressive. Rashad wins the rematch.
