soccer players?

I was watching the world cup game this morning with Italy, while I was on the treadmill. I counted at the very least 10 times over the 30 mins I was there the Italian players taking dives. Some of the replays showed that the players legs, arms, hands never even touched them, let alone hurt them. It was ridiculous

(although one guy did get kicked in the back of the head)

My question is (as I don't watch soccer) do all the teams/players take dives like that?

If you wanna piss with the big dogs, you'd better lift your leg high.

If you have ever played soccer, you realize pretty quickly that taking dives is one of the ways to win, unfortunately. When I was a kid one of our coaches actually showed us how to do it properly!

Basically the way it goes is: someone nudges you, take a dive. If the ref calls it, you get a free kick. If you're in the penalty area, you get a penalty shot. Free kicks make for scoring opportunities and obviously so do penalty shots. Near the goals you'll see people falling on their faces all the time

Pretty cheesy, but it's how games are won and lost. Much like referees in hockey being selective when they call cross checking penalties.

I've never played before, always to busy with hockey and baseball. Guess that's why I don't understand?

I don't like hockey players do it either. It was allot more prevalent/blatant in that soccer game than it is in hockey. IMO Only a small percentage of hockey players take dives, and those are the guys don't have respect from me.

Well, you don't see England taking dives all the time, or Denmark for that matter cuz we people are not pussies like the Italian guys. Just look at their hair for Christ sake

No...I am not saying that it has something to do with their hair only. But trust me, Italian Soccerplayers are pussies. They just got kicked out of the world cup and now they are blaming everyone saying it is a political thing etc. An Italian club even fired the Korean player that scored the goal against Italy saying that he had ruined Italy's chances PUSSIES

If I was that Korean player I would be laughing all the way to the bank. He'll get picked up by another club for way more money so fast you'll probably read about it tomorrow. If I were him I wouldn't want to go back to Italy anyway...imagine if it was Columbia or some other country like that...he would have been killed by now.
