The 3-4 defense didn't supply an ample pass rush since Colvin got hurt, why would it change against the best team in the NFC?
Plus, McDaniels called the worst offensive game in his life. The injury to Neal and Faulk didn't help, but the Patriots have so much depth that you could have used a plethora of various types of screens, short routes across the middle, tight end fly's, etc to lessen the pass rush from the linebackers who seemed to get in untouched every play.
They were outcoached, necessary adjustments were not made.
Again, the Patriots had every chance to win that game despite everything that could go wrong, going wrong.

I thought it was over as well. Not because I didn't think Eli could do it, but because I thought the Patriots would be the team to make "plays" and not the Giants. It became clear to me that after Samuel missed that interception and Tyree made the catch, that it just wasn't the Patriots day.
Imagine what kind of money Samuel would be looking at this offseason if he had made the interception that sealed the deal.

They made the right decision with Ty Law and Lawyer Milloy, what makes you think they won't make the right decision with Asante Samuel?

I'm just saying... The Patriots cornerbacks for the last couple of years have been Samuel (drafted in the 4th round), Ellis Hobbs (3rd round), and Randall Gay (wasn't drafted, rookie free agent).

In all honesty, it's Ellis Hobbs that needs to go. The guy gets burned on every route and lacks size especially when big receivers like Plaxico can toy with him. He's horrible.
Asante definitely didn't match up last year's performance but i'd give him one more year. Next season will be a make or break season for him regarding his future.

That doesn't make any sense.
They went into details about Belichicks "rule" in the final game of the season against the Giants. To avoid confusion, I guess Samuel and Hobbs are locked on whichever side they're better at as opposed to matching up on receivers.
It's not that bad of a scheme, I mean, Hobbs/Samuel are the same size, neither could have stopped Plaxico on the game ender.
