Trouble brewing? Fielder unhappy with contract

He's gone....

Quote:
Prince Fielder is frustrated about his contract. The Milwaukee Brewers renewed the slugger's contract for $670,000 on Sunday after he finished third in the National League's most valuable player voting last season. "I'm not happy about it at all," Fielder said. "The fact I've had to be renewed two years in a row, I'm not happy about it because there's a lot of guys who have the same amount of time that I do who have done a lot less and are getting paid a lot more. But my time is going to come. It's going to come quick too."
The first baseman, who made $415,000 last season, will be eligible for arbitration after this season. General Manager Doug Melvin said he thinks the 23-year-old Fielder is making more money than any player not eligible for arbitration who doesn't have a multiyear contract. The Brewers base their offers to young players on performance benchmarks, not what other teams have offered players in similar situations.

It's how the system works. He shouldn't be angry in the least, especially because a lot of players who are making more money than he is signed deals that in the long term won't pay them as much (teams give them big deals before they have to so they can buy them out of a couple of years of free agency) as they would have gotten had they played their arbitration years out and entered free agency the first year they were allowed to.

The only thing I can see him being mad about is wanting guaranteed money now because he isn't confident his fat, disgusting body will hold up for an extended period of time.

He physically takes after his father.
I believe Brewers already paid him a $2.4 million dollar bonus.

Cole Hamels said Sunday that the Phillies' decision to renew his contract for $500,000 was a "low blow."

***

Prince isn't the only one angry.

Be mad at your agent for not getting you a guaranteed deal, not at the Phillies for being smart.
