I'm kind of fond of the Selle Italia Flight Gel with the comfort insert for the royal jewels.

The problem with seats - is that everyone's butts are different. What may work for one guy (or girl) may SUCK for another.

I used to have this great cushy saddle - only problem was it was kinda wide and I couldn't get behind it on downhills.

You just gotta try em!

MBC- thanks. I am also having a problem with the "taint" and balls area. I need some cushion there. Aside from jury-rigging something myself, what kind was the cushy saddle?

Thanks again.

Dang it! I had just added one to "my cart" and went to lunch before placing the order. That WAS a really good buy.

If it's in your cart, then they probably have it. Maybe you got the last one. Or maybe not. Sometimes those online places just like to take your money, THEN tell you they are out of stock and will ship it when they get more in six months.

Mine was a Trico - I'm sure too big.

I have a Bontrager that I like.... names I hear thrown out often for comfort are WTB, Terry, Specialized body geometry and Selle Italia - although my rm came with a custom Selle Italia and it's like sitting on a brick - one ride and it made ME numb! Anyway, people love other models.

Need more?

OK so it looks like I'm going to try this one based upon this kind of review- Selle Royal Lookin HGE Trekking-

After reading about a dozen reviews, this was the first mentioning comfort of the seats & getting 5 chilis-

Quote:
this saddle feels sooooooooooooo good!i have a titanium selle italia gel flite saddle that was kickin my ass!padding feels too firm.i could never get really comfortable with it.could not ride on it for more than 90 to 120 minutes.after brief brake in period, the selle royal saddle totally relieved the pressure the the flite saddle was putting on the you know what.
Happy nuggets

TGK, Are your doohickies getting in the way? Or are they going numb? Could be differant issues you are trying to fix... If they are getting in the way (i.e. moving around) and getting smooshed it could be that your shorts are not tight enough in the crotch. If your peepee is getting sleepee it could be due to your saddle angle putting to much pressure in the wrong place. Could be other things also. I assume you've been ridding awhile and know about these things. If not let me/us know.

Just buying a new saddle may not fix your problem if you havent tried some of these things.

Tboy-
I am not a hardcore biker- once or twice a week is all I do along with a lot of other stuff.

At first my problems was the gonads bouncing, so I tightened up the shorts and bought a few pairs of biking shorts. That was fine.

Then, during a period of riding more than normal, I actually got a lump in the area behind my sack.

Dr. visit & decreased riding over the past year and the little visitor went away.

Now I'm just looking for something softer cause there's too many beautiful opportunities to ride around my neck of the woods in NY.
They actually close the Bronx River Parkway on Sundays from 12-2 PM exclusively for bikers, which is pretty cool. You can go from Mt. Vernon to White plains & back without a car to bother you(about 20 miles).

I'd like to order one of those SUCKING saddles please ...

Tboy's right though .. It's more likely the angle/slide position of your saddle that's hurting your nuts or making them go numb.

Try going for a more forward-leaning angle and a forward-shifted position
(get your butt on the whole saddle instead of just the first 2 inches).
This can make all the difference ...

Comfy Seats

Check with your local TREK dealer for a gel cover for the front of your saddle. These things take alot of getting used to, but will keep you comfortable on long rides or those lovely recoils after jumps etc.

Ok,it sounds like you may also need a suspension post,a gel cover,DELUXE and a wide seat...
Sorry yes I'm having fun at your expense,I'm terribly sorry
Like it has been said in a previous post the answer to one person is the PAIN of another!!!
It's a personal thing!!!
You have to try, different seat,EH,it took me 5 seats to come up with the one I presently have...
Da boyz are and I ride daily(well almost)butt I usually ride for 20 to 50 miles a ride...
Da "trouser worm" is alive ,so I've been told,so I think I have da right seat ...FOR ME!!!
Mine is a Radical, made by PACE,it has a gel pocket so da boyz have a comfy seat!
So there,it's up to you to choose.
Happy riding!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH BABY!!!!

While shopping, stay away from this one. It's one of those "Real Man" saddles.
