    Euro 2008

    Starts soon.

    Who are your predictions?

    List of Nations:

    Austria France
    Switzerland Croatia
    Germany Greece
    Holland Italy
    Czech Republic Poland
    Turkey Romania
    Russia Spain
    Sweden Portugal

    Favorites?

France: reat attack, fluent attacking style, solid in all areas, creative midfield: Thierry Henry, Reibery etc...

Spain. They've got a bit more strength in depth this time, a lack of which has let them down in the past. Their spine - Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi, Fernando Torres and David Villa - is very strong

Italy: Solid cattenacio style. Strongest defence, solid in all areas. Luca Toni a talisman in attack.

Holland: Good going forward, always a pleasure to watch. Defence not as good as other top nations, but creative and play reat attacking football. Huntelaar, Schneider.

Germany: Solid team. Everyone works hard together, hard to break down and a fantastic abillity to grind out results. Michael Ballack.

Portugal: Fantastic attacking team, som great players, notably Christiano Ronaldo of Man Utd, possibly the best player in the tournament as Messi of Argentina will not be there.

    Outside bets:

Russia: Good team, great coach in Hiddink. Roman Pavlyuchenko a good striker, Zenit st Petersberg teamate Andrey Arshavin, very creative.

Croatia: Play some great football. Cut England to pieces in the Qualification stages. The main reason England will not be there. Good players throughout team. Srna, Luka Modric pulling strings.

Czech Republic: Always a good outside bet. Even without the inspirational (injured) Rosicky, they have enough quality. Robert Kovac strong in defence, giant man mountain Jan Koller a handful to any team.

Certainly amongst the favourites. They never seem to be quite as talented player for player as other teams, but they have that crazy German efficency and mentality that just seems to get them results no matter what.

I think I'm going to go with France, although I'm supporting Croatia, Holland and Spain.

An outside bet, but a good passing team none the less.

Goodfella: Maybe, a strong team all around, best defence in the tournament. Will be one to watch.

On paper it should, but there's something a little suspect with the Spanish mentality. They don't perform under pressure, a complet contrast to the Germans who are all about a winning never-say-die mentality.

David Villa will probably play alongside Torres, forming a lethal and very talented front line.

Big miss Cannavaro. This could weaken their brilliant defence by quite a bit. It will be interesting to see the repercusions of this. He is an outstanding defender.

Hell yeah, Holland cut Italy to shreds on the counter attack.

So far, only Holland, POrtugal and Germany have been impressive. Holland the pick of them.

    Witchblade will be loving this.

Yeah, they were very poor. Romania sat with 10 men in front of the ball, but France never looked like scoring.

Still, even without Henry, Benzema etc.. should have created more.

Italy will have to pick up after this defeat, it will be hard for them to qualify now, beating France is almost a must.

    4's even worse.

Spain 4-1 Russia. Best squad in the tornament, lets see if they can keep it up. Russia did'nt look that bad either, just goes to show how good Spain look. THe Brazil of Europe.

    David Villa got a hatrick.

Very negative team. But they don't have creative players, or talented forwards. One way traffic when Spain play them....

Amazing that they won it in 2004.

Czech 1 - 1 Portugal. Shaping up as not a bad game. Portugal look good in attack, but Czechs are holding their own so far.

Yeah, but after his season with Man Utd and his reputation, he is going to be the most heavily marked player in the tournament.

    Still, a class act.
