    What's up with OLN???

Anybody here have the OLN channel? I am wanting to see some Moutain Biking and all they are playing it the Tour De France. Some DH or DS would be nice also.

OLN's MTB coverage is mediocre at best. Your best bet is Thursday nights from 9:00 to 11:00. The first hour is usually NORBA coverage, then from 10:00 to 11:00 they usually show a European event. They cram cross county, dual slalom, downhill, and short track coverage into one hour, so you don't get to see too much. Since Tour de France coverage is 9 to 11 every night, you probably won't get to see any Thursday night MTB coverage until August.

BTW, yes I do get OLN. They need to cut back on the hunting and camping coverage and add more MTB.

    Hey!!!! Bambi tastes good.
Plus he's low in fat and high in protein...

OLN had the MTB stuff on at 7:00 (CST) my time last year. The only reason I got the extra channels on the dish was to watch MTB'n.

Yeah, the fishing shows suck also. It's a shame they are being so PC. If I catch a 2 foot rainbow trout or a 5 pound bass, you can be dogone sure its going in the frying pan... I bet as soon as the cameras go off they keep everything.

uh, I mean on the grill (I fogot this was a health nut board )

I keep waiting for them to start using rubber arrows and bullets on the hunting shows.

Why don't we all bombard them with e-mail requesting to see more MTBing. I'm sure if enough people request it they would change their line up. I just sent in my request. Let's see if we can get them to show more MTB coverage.

I saw some a couple of days ago. I saw the DS, I think it was from Wisconsin. They showed Brian Lopes whipping everyone's asses.

MTBing will be on OLN tonight at 8:00 pm EST. It's usualy on Thursday nights, but the TDF has pushed it aside temporarily.

I did e-mail them requesting to have more MTB coverage. Here's their response:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass along your request for more mountain
biking to our programming department for review.

    George Smirnoff
    Consumer Marketing Coordinator
    Outdoor Life Network

And here's my original e-mail I sent them:

Please, please, please show more mountain biking. It is a very popular
sport world wide and would attract a huge audience. The hunting and fishing
shows are overkill. Watching fishing is akin to watching paint dry. We want
to see some action. More Mountain biking!!!

I think if enough of us write in our requests it just might go somewhere no?

I love Oln but I wish they would cut the hunting and fishing completely OUT. The mountain biking is good but only limited to thursday night and the climbing shows are on at 9:30 am WHAT?

What was it George Carlin said about watching golf? It's as about exciting as watching flies F*$%. Yeah, that sounds like watching BASS fishing too.

Well, since the rains have stopped and it's dried out, the sugar sand is loose again. The trails in pretty good shape apart from all the pigs that throw their trash all over the trail

I've only been to Oleta once. It's a nice park. Just beware of the awful swamp gas at the trail head. It'll gag a skunk.
