Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Just cause I want to see a great series, I'll take the Rays in 7.

Well, the Phils did exactly what they needed to do in game one, even without the help of Rollins or Howard. Hamels is nasty.

I wonder how much longer before he wants to relocate.

Money Squeeze Play Bedevils Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays have slain the big-market bullies from New York, Chicago and Boston, but the team will soon face a much greater foe.

"The economy could kill us," says Stuart Sternberg, the team's principal owner and a former partner at Goldman Sachs.

Playing with Major League Baseball's second lowest payroll, the Rays owe much of their success to the long-term contracts given to their core of talented young players. The deals will allow the team to keep its top players for several more years, leading many to predict that the Rays could become a dominant force in the game.

But Mr. Sternberg has a problem: The Rays, he says, can barely afford their $44 million payroll with their current attendance, and that payroll is going up. Once the glamour of October baseball fades, the Rays will need to build a stable fan base in a region that has never truly embraced them -- and it must do so during an economic crisis that is worse in Florida than nearly anywhere else........more

I think I'm gonna have an ulcer by the end of this series with all of the stranded runners in scoring position.

Phillies were known for chocking on the offense all year

You're right. I don't think they've even had a post-season game where everyone contributed. It's been one or 2 bats that have bailed them out each time. That's why I picked the Rays to win.

Joe Blanton, Phillies rock Rays 10-2, take 3-1 World Series lead

I think they will win one more game.

They did enough for me in their last playoff series.

The way the Phils are swinging the bats right now I just don't see the Rays beating Hamels tonight.

Yeah that was horrible. I'm a singer, so that was extra painful for me. Backstreet Boys weren't much better.

If Ryan Howard has gotten his stroke back, the Rays have no chance. Plus they have Scott Kazmir pitching and he's been erratic this year.

More importantly, Rollins has his swing back. Kaz seems to have a hard time pitching with runners on base.

Funny how this thread died after that bizarre suspended game last night.

I am not from the Philly area originally (been here 10 years). But damn! if I get up on the roof of my house in Jersey, I can see the Linc and Citizens Bank Park across the Delaware.

A three inning sprint has got to be in the Rays favor.... but this series is OURS!

LET'S GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, the rain stopped about 2 hours ago, but it is windy as hell. Good move to postpone until tomorrow.

The Rays bullpen isn't very good, but with two days of rest, perhaps both teams go with starters?

I'm from Cape May originally, lived in Florida for most of my life but my family wouldn't have me back if I had converted to being a Dolphins/Panthers/Marlins fan. I really want this thing to end tonight in front of the home crowd. Philly faithful deserve that.
