A lot of players from the caribean tend to lie about their ages.

Probably because it's illegal and it violates MLB's drug policies, but I'm just guessing.

And that 5 of the top 12 Homerun Hitters are cheaters.

Stats are a big thing in Baseball.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

That said..... cheating has occurred in baseball since day one, if you aren't cheating you aren't trying to win.

I'm with dg in the sense that I just don't give a flying fuck about steroids anymore.

5 of the top 12 home run hitters might have failed drug tests at one time or another but there were just as many pitchers on the drugs.

In other words, everybody used performance enhancers in one way or another - the "steroid" era is probably one of the more clean eras when you consider that an entire race of people weren't allowed to play back a hundred years ago.. not to mention, the talent in warm weathered countries such as the Dominican Republic was non-existant.

You can get either HCG or steroids legally if prescribed. Why does MLB or the public care if a player tries to better himself. You all say records...........let everyone use them and they are on a level playing field and it doesn't matter. The only reason this is an issue is because the IOC started this crap and everyone else was forced to follow. If they would have kept their mouths shut, you would never have seen any of this and it would all be peachy keen.

Not when you have kids who look up to the players thinking they can be in there shoes one day, and thinking they need to take steroids to make it.

Could this also be the reason for Ortiz's slump?

Bill Simmons is my favorite sports writer. Here's one of his recent articles about the 2004-2007 Red Sox and speculative steroid use.

I read this article, it was pretty interesting. I was going to post it here to get all of these Red Sox fans all irritated but right now with the Yankees doing so bad I rather not stir things up.
