Quarterback Michael Vick released from prison after serving 23 months for dogfighting ring

RICHMOND, Va. — An attorney for Michael Vick says the suspended NFL star has left a Kansas prison and is on his way back to Virginia to meet the next challenges he'll face.
Larry Woodward, a member of Vick's legal team, says Vick left the federal penitentiary at Leavenworth overnight. Woodward says Vick is happy to be starting this part of the process. He's due to return to Virginia later this week to begin serving the final two months of his sentence under home confinement at a home he owns in Hampton.
Vick had been serving a 23-month sentence for financing a dogfighting ring.
The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback is expected to be released from federal custody July 20, and hopes to persuade NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to reinstate him.

Hah... In his defense, he just wanted to bring fiction to reality, cause he really admired the role played by burt reynolds in the, "longest yard". The problem arose when he realised he couldn't get arrested for drunkin driving, cause he doesn't drink.

But, it was made worse when he realised that the prisoners didn't have a football team.

I have debated this for several hours. I wanted to say he deserved to stay in jail. But I think you are right. Anyone can make a mistake and deserve a second chance after serving their punishment. I just find it hard to believe he is truely sorry for what he did. I guess time will tell with his actions.

Just cause you do your time... doesn't mean you can or are eligible to go back to a certain job.

That said I could careless as to what he does. I think he is over-rated.

He's not just done time, but he's lost more than any of us ever would. I'm certainly not defending him or his actions and never really was much a fan, but I believe he should be allowed to live his life now.

That is where I am torn. He will either be very sorry because he did loose it all and realize how bad he screwed up, or he will be determined to get it all back however he can. I don't really care to see him back in the NFL, but I bet someone will take a chance on him.
