Powerlifting

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS
High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com
Maybe we can add a powerlifting section here as well since there are some on the board interested in powerlifting and with questions.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I view Powerlifting as something completely different from Bodybuilding & Fitness.

That's why it should have a seperate place You've got quite a few people here interested in it and personally I'd rather keep asking my questions and get some info here rather than go to another forum.

Not everyone shares your views.... you may lose those members to another board.

I think its a good idea.

I don't care either way. It is Rob's board so he can do what he wants. Nothing is holding you back from placing your PLing questions in the training forum though.

No, nothing is stopping us but it would be nice to have a one stop place to place our questions, get answers, look through powerlifting threads and have our own stickies for those interested. And it would be nice not to have to put "powerlifting" in the title everytime I or someone else has a question or thought about it.

Oh yeah, i know. I see where you are going with it. But, like i said, it is Rob's site and if he wants to keep the image more bodybuilding then so be it. But don't be discouraged to keep on posting your powerlifting related questions and material in the training forum for the rest of us to check out.

I agree that it would be cool, maybe even a sub section in the training forum or something like that. We could even get someone "great" to be a mod for it..lol

the thing i like about just keeping it as "training" is that it can be openended. It doesn't have to be just BB'er training. It can be anything....powerlifting, olympic lifting, cardiovascular training, etc.. It is just training. Once you want to specialize in one avenue like powerlifting someone will want an olympic lifting training forum, a strongman lifting training forum, a scotish games lifting training forum, a marathon training forum, a swiming training forum.....I mean c'mon guys....Do you really want marathon runners and swimmers here?

I see your point P man, but a thing like powerlifting is directly related to training and if we had a subsection we could express and relate that more deeply. Most people here aren't really bodybuilders, at least competively, they are recreational lifters and for them to learn more about powerlifting would benefit them as well as the competitors. its not really a stretch from the basis of the forum where as the strongman and swimming comments are.. I mean how often do people ask performance questions about the squat and dead, every sinlge day pretty much.. anyways I think its a great idea that would improve the forum at little or no cost.. there really aren't any negatives to the idea the way I see it. maybe I am wrong thou

most bodybuilders do squats and deadlifts, that does not make them powerlifters, nor does it mean they are powerlifting, it is just a movement.

how often do you see "powerlifting" in a bodybuilding magazine? almost never, there are several magazines that are dedicated to powerlifting. I just view it as something completely different, just the same I have no pans to create a "strongman" forum here.

i dont really get powerlifting, i used to try to do the low rep thing, all i did was lose size. i did not gain any weight in 16 weeks. i use the bodybuilding reps, either 12-8-6-6, 1-8-8-6, or even 10-8-6-4. with this i have gained significant muscle, and tons of strength.

That's a shame you feel that way Rob. I'll be moving on for the most part in that case. Most other BB Forums have a powerlifting section and it didn't seem to hurt them any.

And why do we have a suggestion section anyway? I don't think I've seen you take to anyone's suggestions in here It's your forum and you can do what you want with it obviously, but I'm still disapointed and will be moving on as I have a feeling others will also. Hmmmm.... Seems some of the better members around here have left or are slowly leaving while your filling up with a**holes and those who bring your forum down.

if you lost size you did not eat enough or your program was crap.

you can still ask your questions. there are still people here that will answer them and enjoy talking about that stuff. you don't have to go somewhere else. it is all good. just because the title doesn't say powerlifting doesn't mean we can't discuss it.

exactly, training is training and if you have a question on squats or deads ask, if it is more specific towards the sport of powerlifting I suggest you find a forum that is based on that sport.

Why don't all the power lifters start journals and put the word "Power lifting" in the thread title so people who share that interest know where to go.

You know I wouldn't really leave, I'm just dissapointed. I know you agree with the fact it would just be nice to have a sub-forum where like minded people would go for powerlifting and have all the info in the same place. It's not just posting my questions I like, it's seeing other people posting interesting articles and questions concerning powerlifting which happens a little bit right now but I bet would explode if there was a section for it.

But enough complaining, I'll move on

We had quite a few like that with Westside in the title.
