spam proofing

other forums I post on have limitations, such as a waiting period to start a new thread, or a minimum post count before you can private message people. they seem to work very well.

1000 posts would be a good number to limit these spammers

Yeah, but I really do not want to punish the majority because there are a few spammers. As far as spam threads/posts you can report them, but me or a mod usually sees them pretty quickly. If you get a spam PM just forward it to me and I will handle the offender.
