poll expiration?

Maybe its just me but when i open up my control panel to see whats been said in the threads i post in, I get bombarded by polls that were made years ago not to mention every new thread in the sexual health forum is buried in a minute. kind of annoying

but i'd still like to see what is written and if i unsubscribe i cant; i just dont like the fact they come up when nothing is said.
